RRightmove operates the UK's largest online property portal and app, connecting property seekers with estate agents, developers, and other advertisers. Its platform hosts property listings and allows users to search by location, price, type, and features, while providing insights and tools such as valuation data. The product works as a two-sided network: advertisers list properties on Rightmove and pay subscription fees plus optional premium advertising and data services, and buyers/renters browse and contact agents through the site. Unlike its competitors, Rightmove does not act as a broker; it derives revenue from subscriptions and value-added services (premium placements, market intelligence, tenant referencing) and also expands through acquisitions (e.g., tenant referencing, platform services). Its goal is to grow a large, connected ecosystem that makes property searching simpler for buyers and renters while monetizing listings through agents and developers.

Rightmove adds reporting summaries and call analysis for agents. Rightmove has introduced two Ai features for agents: Ai-generated summaries in Property Performance and Call Intelligence, which analyses telephone conversations. Rightmove is extending its agent-facing tools into reporting summaries and telephone conversation analysis, with two new features designed to support agency workflows. Ai-generated summaries have been added to Property Performance. Call Intelligence analyses calls to help agents manage enquiries and follow-up activity. The tools are intended to reduce administration, improve vendor communication and identify potential business opportunities. For agencies, the practical consideration is whether these capabilities address existing reporting and call-handling needs.

The portal was among the list of websites and apps to be disrupted by a Cloud outage yesterday morning, The Sun and The Independent reported. Google confirmed there was a problem with the power source at its Europe-West2 centre in London that serves many countries in Europe as well as Britain. The Cloud facility allows companies to store their data at relatively cheap prices. Technical issues. A Rightmove spokesperson said: "Earlier today, technical issues affecting Google Cloud Platform across Europe impacted some of its logged-in services. There were also problems at TSB, Bank of Scotland, Nationwide and First Direct, affecting online and mobile services, and preventing people from making payments or transferring funds Two years ago, property deals in Scotland were hit by a cyber security issue at the country's insolvency service. Rightmove hit by major Google Cloud outage as websites go down. A major internet outage hit Rightmove on Tuesday, potentially disrupting property searches and enquiries for estate agents across the UK. A power failure at Google's London data centres triggered the disruption, causing problems for businesses and public services. For estate and letting agents advertising properties on Rightmove, the outage raised concerns about whether prospective buyers and tenants could access listings or submit enquiries. However, the full impact on agents and their customers remains unclear. Rightmove reportedly restored normal services by Tuesday afternoon. A Rightmove spokesperson told EYE: "Technical issues affecting Google Cloud Platform across Europe impacted some of our logged-in services. These issues have now been resolved and all services are operating as normal. We thank our customers for their patience while we worked closely with our provider to minimise the impact." Google confirms cause of outage Google attributed the problems to a "power event" at its London data centres. The company first reported the incident on its europe-west2 service health dashboard at around 7am BST on Tuesday. The disruption affected numerous websites and applications, including services operated by Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Revolut and delivery firm DPD. The problems also extended to the NHS app and parts of the court system. However, Google said most services had recovered by mid-afternoon. In an update at 3pm BST, the company confirmed that it had "mitigated" the issue for most affected customers. Nevertheless, a small number of customers continued to experience difficulties at that stage. Cloud failure disrupts multiple services The incident highlighted how technical problems at a major technology provider can affect numerous unrelated websites and services. Google Cloud supplies infrastructure that supports websites, applications and online platforms. Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare provide similar technology to businesses worldwide. Although much of this infrastructure operates behind the scenes, failures can disrupt everyday business activity. For estate agents, the immediate concern centred on potential interruptions to property marketing and customer enquiries. While most services recovered on Tuesday, the precise impact on Rightmove listings and agent enquiries remains unknown.
