News - 22 April, 2026 * Egypt-based edtech iSchool has acquired software engineering firm Rubikal to accelerate the development of AI-powered education systems. * Founded in 2018 by Muhammad Gawish, Ebrahim Abdullah, Mustafa Abdelmon'em and Osama Ghareb, iSchool offers live gamified classes led by coding instructors. Rubikal, founded in Egypt in 2016, develops real-time, scalable, fault-tolerant web applications. * The deal brings Rubikal's 21 engineers and founding team into iSchool, strengthening its in-house technical capabilities. iSchool has announced the acquisition of software engineering firm Rubikal, marking a strategic step toward building a full-stack AI infrastructure for schools. The move reflects iSchool's evolution from an education provider into a technology-driven platform focused on developing proprietary AI systems for K-12 learning. iSchool acquires Rubikal to accelerate AI infrastructure development for schools

iSchool, a leading programming and AI education platform for school students in the Middle East and North Africa, has acquired Rubikal, a global software engineering company. The acquisition brings Rubikal's 21-strong engineering team into iSchool's technology division. The deal follows over three years of technical collaboration, during which Rubikal served as iSchool's core engineering partner. Rubikal's leadership will join iSchool's senior management, with Mohammed Ibrahim becoming chief technology officer and Mustafa Badawi vice president of software engineering. Rubikal has built scalable software products for international clients including Disney, Discovery, Strada and Vestaboard. iSchool, which has over 150,000 graduates across more than 20 countries, aims to become the foundational AI infrastructure layer for schools globally through government and institutional partnerships.
