Seon's biometric IDV software certified for eIDAS 2.0, age verification in Germany. Aug 14, 2026, 10:19 am EDT Chris Burt A double-certification announcement from U.S.-based Seon positions the company's software to compete for share in Europe's growing digital identity verification and age verification markets. Seon's identity verification solution has been certified to the Extended Level of Identity Proofing under ETSI 119 461. The solution features ID document verification with automated capture and NFC scanning or a combined optical check and fallback human review, face biometrics with passive liveness detection, deepfake and injection attack detection (IAD), and eID integration. Extended LoIP is the higher of two levels specified under the eIDAS 2.0 regulation, which is also recognized in other legislation like the EU's incoming AML requirements under AMLR. AMLR mostly takes effect on July 10, 2027. EU member states are expected to launch government-issued EU Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallets by the end of the year under eIDAS 2.0. The certification assessment also included consideration of ETSI EN 319 401 V3.1.1, which relates to operational and security requirements, according to the company announcement. Seon's identity verification software was also approved for age verification by Germany's Commission for the Protection of Minors in the Media (KJM). "Our customers are building products that handle sensitive transactions, protect vulnerable users and operate under serious regulatory scrutiny," says Seon CEO and Co-founder Tamas Kadar in the announcement. "The identity verification they rely on has to hold up. Earning eIDAS 2.0 certification and KJM approval validates that our platform is a risk and compliance foundation customers can build on with confidence." Article topics. Latest biometrics news. Plumery integrates SEON's fraud prevention into next-gen digital banking. Posted On 8 July 2026 Plumery, the digital banking development platform, today announced a partnership with SEON, the AI Command Center for Fraud Prevention and AML Compliance, integrating SEON's device-intelligence technology into the company's platform for digital banks. The collaboration gives customers globally the ability to quickly identify and block fraudulent devices, reducing account-takeover risk and strengthening security across digital channels. Through the integration, Plumery business customers can access SEON's device intelligence analysis directly within its mobile and web foundation. This helps digital banks identify potential fraudulent activity early in the onboarding process by analysing device characteristics, digital-footprint signals and behavioural patterns, all while keeping the experience smooth for genuine users. By combining Plumery's pre-integrated mobile and web foundation with SEON's fraud-prevention signals, banks gain a clearer view of user trust across the customer lifecycle. Crucially, SEON's device-based signals help to reduce fraudulent sign-ups by up to 96%, making this a critical layer of defence that helps financial service providers spot suspicious behaviour and prevent fraudulent account creation before losses occur. "Digital banks shouldn't have to choose between great customer experience and strong protection", said Ben Goldin, CEO and Co-Founder at Plumery. "By integrating SEON's digital footprint analysis capabilities into our foundation, we're giving our business customers a faster, more secure way to launch banking experiences without compromising on security. This partnership reflects our shared belief in giving more people access to great banking while staying protected." The partnership comes as financial fraud continues to rise globally, driven by increasing digital adoption and increasingly sophisticated attack methods. Findings from KPMG's Global Banking Scam Survey show that 60% of banks reported an increase in scam-related customer complaints in 2025, highlighting the growing scale and impact of authorised push payment fraud, impersonation scams and other forms of financial crime. As fraudsters increasingly use automation, stolen credentials and AI-enabled techniques to target digital channels, banks are under growing pressure to identify high-risk activity earlier in the customer journey. "Most fraud in digital banking starts at account creation, and by the time a bank detects it, the damage is already done. Device intelligence catches it at the front door," said Dan Webb, Vice President, Partnerships, SEON. "Integrating directly into Plumery's platform means their banking customers get that protection from day one, without building it themselves." The integration is available immediately to all Plumery customers using the company's mobile and web platforms. Visit https://plumery.com/ for more information.
SEON, an AI-powered fraud prevention platform, has launched a Shopify-native app co-built with Domaine, a leading Shopify partner. The app embeds SEON's fraud prevention capabilities directly into Shopify workflows, targeting high-growth brands facing increased chargebacks and fraud as they scale. The launch marks the first major product from SEON and Domaine's strategic partnership announced in January. Domaine's experience with brands like Timex and Laura Mercier informed the app's design to integrate seamlessly with existing merchant technology stacks. The app allows merchants to customise fraud rules, automate decisions and review orders within Shopify without developer support. SEON's 2026 Retail Fraud Guide found nearly 88% of retailers grew revenues by over 10% last year, but expanding markets bring increased fraud risk. The app is available globally through the Shopify App Store.
SEON launches AI-capable platform to combat fraud, financial crimes. SEON is expanding its AI capabilities inside its platform to combat fraud and financial crimes. The move comes with two additional capabilities Network Detection and AI Chart Builder, SEON's existing server, which connect its existing capabilities in automation and business intelligence. Under a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, SEON's data layer can be opened to whichever AI tool a team in the organisation needs. To support adoption, an AI Playbook for Risk and Compliance Teams ships alongside them, giving customers a practical starting point for putting their MCP connection to work quickly.
SEON, an AI-powered fraud prevention and AML compliance platform, has launched three new capabilities expanding AI access across its system. The Austin and Amsterdam-based company introduced a Model Context Protocol server that connects SEON's 900-plus real-time risk signals to external AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. The company also released Network Detection, which continuously scans transactions to identify fraud rings and money laundering networks, and AI Chart Builder, which generates data visualisations from natural-language queries. An AI Playbook for Risk and Compliance Teams accompanies the launch, providing pre-built workflows for immediate deployment. According to SEON's 2026 Fraud and AML Leaders Report, 98% of fraud and AML leaders already use AI in their workflows. The new features aim to streamline data access for analysts whilst maintaining flexibility in AI tool selection.
