Swedish biopharmaceutical company Sobi (Swedish Orphan Biovitrum) is acquiring full ownership of Pint Pharma, a firm specialising in bringing complex treatments, including cancer therapies, to Latin American markets. The transaction builds on Sobi's initial investment last year, when it paid $105 million for most of Pint's economic rights. The deal, submitted to Brazil's competition authority Cade, involves purchasing all remaining shares of Pharma Investments, Pint's parent company. The transaction value remains undisclosed. The acquisition gives Sobi control of a platform operating across seven Latin American markets, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia. Pint handles regulatory approval, market access, and distribution of specialised medicines for rare diseases, haematology, and oncology. Sobi reported revenue of 28.2 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $2.9 billion) in 2025. The companies have maintained a commercial partnership since 2021.
Swedish biopharma firm Sobi announced that chief executive Guido Oelkers will step down to take up another position outside the company. Oelkers will continue in his role until the end of January 2027 at the latest. "Leading Sobi has been a privilege, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together as a team," Oelkers said. He highlighted advancing the pipeline, expanding global footprint, and growing Sobi into a leader in rare diseases. The company will immediately begin searching for a new chief executive. Sobi's operations, strategy, and financial targets remain unchanged, the firm said.
Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (Sobi) is repurchasing shares to support its employee incentive programme. The Board of Directors exercised authorisation granted at the May 2026 Annual General Meeting to repurchase class C shares at approximately SEK 0.55 per share, representing 100% of their quotient value. The repurchase involves 223,677 shares and will occur between 16 July and 6 November 2026. Svenska Handelsbanken will handle the transaction. After converting the repurchased class C shares to common shares, Sobi will hold 10,290,974 own shares. The move secures commitments under the All Employee Programme, a long-term incentive scheme for permanent staff. Sobi, a biopharma company focused on rare diseases, employs approximately 2,000 people globally and reported revenue of SEK 28 billion in 2025.
Enable Injections has received CE Certification for its enFuse On-Body Delivery System for use with Aspaveli (pegcetacoplan), which will be distributed by Swedish Orphan Biovitrum across the European Union as ASPAVELI enFuse. The certification allows caregivers and patients aged 12 and older to use the wearable device for subcutaneous drug administration. The enFuse system delivers medication through a discreet, hands-free device using a small, hidden needle, designed to improve patient self-administration. Aspaveli is approved for treating paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria, C3G and primary IC-MPGN in patients 12 years and older. This follows recent regulatory clearances in Saudi Arabia, Brazil, South Korea and Canada, part of Enable's strategic partnership with Sobi announced in September 2024.
Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (Sobi) held its annual general meeting on 6 May 2026, approving several key resolutions. Shareholders adopted the company's financial statements for 2025 and discharged the board and CEO from liability. David Meek was re-elected as board chair, with Christophe Bourdon, Iris Loew-Friedrich, Staffan Schüberg and Filippa Stenberg re-elected as directors. Mikael Dolsten and Åsa Riisberg joined as new board members. Ernst & Young was re-appointed as auditor. The AGM approved long-term incentive programmes, including an employee programme with up to 223,677 series C shares and a management programme via equity swap. The board received authorisation to issue up to 39,710,000 new shares through various instruments. Sobi reported SEK 28 billion in revenue for 2025.
