TeamSense provides a text-based platform for managing hourly workforces. It offers a mobile self-service portal accessed via text messages that enables attendance tracking, absence management, recruitment, and access to company resources. Employees can report absences, apply for jobs, and receive real-time alerts from their employers, eliminating the need for traditional call-off lines and manual logs. The service is sold on a subscription basis, typically priced per employee, making it scalable for small to large employers in industries with many hourly workers. Compared to competitors, TeamSense emphasizes direct SMS-based communication and hassle-free mobile access to HR tasks, aimed at reducing absenteeism and improving productivity and employee satisfaction. The overarching goal is to streamline communication, attendance, and HR processes for hourly workforces through a simple mobile experience.

Seattle-area startup TeamSense, which provides a platform for absence reporting and employee communications, has raised $19.5 million, as per an SEC filing. The company, originally part of a joint innovation studio by Pioneer Square Labs and Fortive, launched in 2020 and was acquired by Fortive in 2021. It operates independently since 2022, with Fortive as a minority investor. TeamSense previously raised $4 million in 2023 from Bonfire Ventures and Operator Collective.
TeamSense Inc. launched TeamSense during the height of the pandemic to build a digital connection with frontline workers.
A second one is Entytle, which automates aftermarket business processes for machine OEMs and has raised $14 million over three funding rounds.
But fear not: TeamSense Inc. created this TeamSense guide on PTO policies tailored specifically for the manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics industries!
