The Signal Group

Shipping management plus data-driven software platform

Overview

The Signal Group provides commercial ship management for Aframax and MR oil tankers while also developing and investing in shipping-related software. Its two main arms are Signal Maritime Services, which combines traditional ship management with data analytics and modern pooling models to improve performance and transparency, and Signal Ocean, which powers the Signal Ocean Platform that securely collects and analyzes private and public shipping data using machine learning and AI to deliver actionable insights for charterers, brokers, and shipowners. The company differentiates itself by blending hands-on ship management with high‑level data science and a data-driven pooling approach that aims for clear visibility, efficiency, and fairer returns. Its goal is to boost shipping returns and decision quality by leveraging high‑quality data, analytics, and software tools, and to grow its tech ecosystem through investments in next‑generation shipping technologies.
