In France, it became a major tour operator through Vacances Transat France and Look Voyages, offering vacation packages that combine flights, accommodations, and activities. Its approach relies on partnering with airlines and using both charter and scheduled flights to assemble comprehensive travel itineraries. The goal is to connect travelers with curated vacation experiences and grow market share in France, while aligning with Transat’s broader focus on expanding in the Americas and transatlantic markets.

/CNW/ -- Transat A.T. Inc. (TSX: TRZ) ("Transat" or the "Corporation") has entered into a financing agreement under the Liquidity for Airline Sector Resilience...
Transat A.T. reported improved first-quarter results for the period ended 31 January 2026, with revenue rising 5% year-over-year to CAD 871 million despite disruption from Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Adjusted EBITDA increased 68% to CAD 34 million from CAD 20 million, driven by higher revenue and cost discipline. The company posted a net loss of CAD 29 million, or CAD 0.73 per share, improving from a CAD 122 million loss a year earlier. Load factor rose to 84.1% from 80.6%, whilst the company recorded its fifth consecutive quarter of yield improvement. Four aircraft remained grounded due to Pratt & Whitney engine issues, with full resolution expected by late 2027 or early 2028. Management attributed the performance to turnaround initiatives including enhanced revenue management and network diversification.
Transat A.T. Inc. announced that shareholders voted overwhelmingly to elect the company's full slate of eight directors at its Annual General Meeting, with over 90% support for Transat's resolutions. The board comprises four new and four returning directors, whilst all four proposals from Financière Outremont Inc. were defeated. Chair Daniel Desjardins said the result provides a clear mandate to continue executing Transat's strategic plan and turnaround strategy. Shareholders also approved amendments to allow between eight and 15 board directors and endorsed the company's executive compensation approach. The Montreal-based leisure airline, founded in 1987, operates nearly 5,000 employees and was voted World's Best Leisure Airline at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Transat has filed its management information circular for its annual general meeting on 10 March 2026, urging shareholders to vote for its eight-director slate amid a contested board election. The company has secured voting support from two major shareholders—Fonds de solidarité FTQ and La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec—who together hold 16.1% of voting shares. Transat's board unanimously recommends voting for its nominees, which include two directors nominated by the major shareholders and other industry experts with experience in aviation, operations and transformation. The slate was developed following shareholder engagement and represents what the company calls a "responsible evolution" of governance. The board offered one seat to Financière Outremont, which holds less than 10% of shares, but the offer was declined. Shareholders must vote by 6 March.
MONTREAL - Transat has unveiled its electronic brochures featuring a range of packages for winter 2024-2025.
