New Trinity Health Livingston hospital set to open in April. Brighton hospital set to open April 19. BRIGHTON, Mich. - A new Trinity hospital is set to open in Brighton later this month. The Trinity Health Livingston on Grand River in Brighton is scheduled to open April 19, 2026. John O'Malley, president of Trinity Health Livingston and Trinity Health Medical Center Brighton, said the new facility is designed to improve efficiency and better serve the community. He said by bringing services together on one campus, the hospital hopes to streamline staffing and reduce costs while expanding access to care. The new hospital will feature dozens of patient beds and updated medical equipment, part of a broader effort to modernize care in Livingston County. (WILX) - An improvement to health care access is coming to Livingston County. The media was invited for a tour of Trinity Health's new hospital in Brighton before it officially opens later this month. Trinity Health is relocating from its campus in Howell. The new hospital will have 56 beds as well as new medical equipment to fulfill community needs. John O'Malley, Trinity Health Livingston president, said the move was important for efficiency. "What this really allows us to do, coming together with our ambulatory surgery center here, is to get really efficient with our staffing, get really efficient with our costs, trying to keep health care lower," O'Malley said. The new hospital is expected to open on April 19 with a community open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Seattle-based health data company Truveta secured $320 million in funding to launch the Truveta Genome Project, aiming to create the largest and most diverse genomic dataset. The investment, from 17 health systems, Illumina, and Regeneron, elevates Truveta's valuation to over $1 billion. Regeneron will sequence exomes of 10 million volunteers.
