Verdant Robotics builds automated farming technology using autonomous robotic implements paired with data analytics to manage crop applications. It sells robotic farming hardware to farmers and offers ongoing maintenance and data services to optimize field operations. The robots use autonomous vehicle-like navigation to move through fields, apply inputs precisely where needed, reducing overspray while under human supervision. Their goal is to help farmers increase profitability and sustainability by delivering scalable, field-ready robotic farming solutions that improve efficiency and environmental stewardship.

Sabanto Inc. and Verdant Robotics have integrated their agricultural technologies, enabling fully autonomous field operations without a cab operator. Sabanto's autonomy retrofit system now communicates directly with Verdant's SharpShooter precision application system via CAN bus, allowing real-time adjustments to tractor speed and implement height. The integration combines Sabanto's autonomous navigation technology with SharpShooter's plant-level precision application, which identifies individual plants and weeds to reduce input usage. The system is already deployed commercially, including at Bethel Farms' sod production operations. Founded in 2018, Sabanto converts existing tractors into autonomous machines using aftermarket retrofit kits. Verdant's SharpShooter uses AI to deliver millimetre-level accuracy in weeding and input application. The partnership addresses labour shortages whilst enabling 24/7 operations and reducing input costs.
Verdant Robotics today announced the expanded availability of its flagship product, the SharpShooter precision application system, to specialty crop growers nationwide.
California, USA - Verdant Robotics, Inc., an agricultural technology company, has announced the debut of its 2025 Sharpshooter, the only robotic precision application system that aims before it shoots, at FIRA 2024 in Woodland, California.
In April 2022, Verdant Robotics announced a robotic solution for farms that can help spraying and weeding simultaneously with the help of machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) perception, and robotics technology.
The farm robotics sector has shown some resilience in 2024 and continues to bring innovative products to market, despite the challenging year for fundraising. In the first half of 2024, the AgFunder-defined Farm Robotics, Mechanization, and Equipment category has raised nearly $399 million, a 21.1 % decline from $505.5 million in H1 2023. [Disclosure: AgFunderNews’ parent company is AgFunder.]. However, this drop needs to be considered in the context of a general investment contraction that has characterized the last 18 months. Overall agrifoodtech investment was also down in H1 2024: 12.5% compared to H1 2023. The drop in funding to the robotics sector is more or less in line with general trends
