PAW Patrol: Dino World is six weeks from launch, and developer Outright Games has offered Xbox community members an exclusive first look at the game's Volcano region - one of Dino Island's most dramatic areas and the setting for the adventure's climactic missions. What happens in the Volcano region. Outright Games, in collaboration with Nickelodeon, developed PAW Patrol: Dino World as an original story adventure set on the prehistoric Dino Island. The Volcano is the final major area players reach, and the team designed it as a turning point where the tone shifts from peaceful exploration to high-stakes rescue. According to the Xbox blog post, what starts as a mysterious explosion soon reveals a collapsed cave passage, a distressed herd of Mahakala dinosaurs, and clear signs that recurring villain Mayor Humdinger has been active in the region. Humdinger has destroyed the Mahakala nests to make room for a dinosaur attraction he is building inside the Volcano. Players must help rebuild those nests based on each dinosaur's individual preferences - mixing exploration, environmental interaction, and problem-solving in a single quest chain. Rex, Timmy, and the escape run. A recurring pup, Rex, takes a central role throughout the Volcano storyline alongside his companion Timmy the T-Rex. Together they assist pups in uncovering Humdinger's construction site and guide players through the region's biggest set pieces. The sequence the team highlights as its signature moment is a direct-control escape run: players ride Rex on Timmy's back as the Volcano begins to erupt around them. The team describes it as a "big cinematic payoff" deliberately designed to feel large in scale while keeping controls simple enough for younger players to manage confidently. Environmental storytelling. Outright Games used the Volcano area to push environmental storytelling further than earlier regions. Lava flows, collapsing pathways, and damaged construction zones all reflect Humdinger's impact on the island. As players complete missions, the environment visually recovers - habitats are restored and frightened dinosaurs return to calmer behaviour, giving younger players a clear sense that their actions are making a difference.
