Xerox

Xerox

Document technology and services provider

Overview

Xerox specializes in document technology and services. It provides printers, copiers, and related document management solutions for businesses, helping them create, store, reproduce, and share documents efficiently. The core technology behind its early products came from xerography, a dry-printing process, which enabled automated copying of plain paper documents. Over time Xerox expanded into services such as managed print and workflow optimization for organizations. The company differentiates itself through a long history of research and development, including the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), which produced foundational ideas in computing and networking that influenced the broader tech industry, even though Xerox did not always commercialize those inventions itself. Xerox’s goal is to help customers improve productivity and document workflows by providing reliable hardware, software, and services that streamline the way people create and handle information.

Xerox makes major production print push with new cut-sheet inkjet, continuous feed and six-color Proficio presses.

Xerox makes major production print push with new cut-sheet inkjet, continuous feed and six-color Proficio presses. - Xerox announced one of its largest recent production print portfolio expansions at PRINTING United Expo 2026, introducing three new press platforms spanning B3 cut-sheet inkjet, continuous-feed inkjet and six-color graphic arts production. - New Proficio Jet CS1100 is a B3 cut-sheet inkjet press producing up to 300 images per minute at 1200 x 1200 dpi. Xerox announces major Production Print portfolio expansion at PRINTING United Expo 2026.

Xerox announces major Production Print portfolio expansion at PRINTING United Expo 2026. Las Vegas - Xerox Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: XRX) today announced a major production print portfolio expansion as part of PRINTING United Expo 2026, introducing three new press platforms and enhancements to existing presses. With these introductions, Xerox is deepening its commitment to production print with an inkjet portfolio spanning cut-sheet and continuous-feed, alongside a new 6-color flagship press for graphic arts. Integrated with the Xerox end-to-end production ecosystem of presses, workflow automation software, media expertise and lifecycle services, the new offerings extend specialty color and intelligent automation capabilities across the broader portfolio, helping print providers bring more work in-house, streamline production and pursue new revenue opportunities. "PRINTING United is the ideal stage to show how Xerox is driving the future of production print," said Terry Antinora, President, Global Production Print Services at Xerox. "We're giving print providers a complete inkjet portfolio, embellishment, intelligent automation, and AI-powered tools that help them grow, differentiate, and win. Everything we're launching is designed to improve customer profitability - not just increase print volume." Attendees can explore the following additions to the Xerox production print portfolio: * Xerox(R) Proficio(TM) Jet CS1100: A B3 cut-sheet inkjet press that delivers speeds of up to 300 images per minute. New Xerox-developed printheads and a high-definition ink formulation deliver 1200 x 1200 dots per inch resolution with 2-bit variable-drop imaging for precise dot placement. A scalable drying architecture supports media up to 350 grams per square meter, including coated stocks. The platform enables print providers to shift a wider range of work, from transactional and direct mail to graphic communications and commercial print, onto a single press without compromising quality. * Xerox(R) Proficio(TM) Jet CF1200: An industrial continuous-feed inkjet press that delivers speeds of up to 525 feet per minute at 1200 dpi within a compact 28-foot footprint. The smallest 20-inch press in its class handles between 4 million and 30 million Letter / A4 impressions per month, helping high-volume print providers increase capacity, operate more efficiently and protect margins. * Xerox(R) Proficio(TM) PX700 FLX: A new graphic arts production press that delivers speeds of up to 120 pages per minute and supports up to six colors inline at rated speed. New Fluorescent Green specialty toner further expands the color gamut and improves RGB accuracy when paired with Fluorescent Pink. Intelligent automation helps reduce operator intervention and improve consistency, enabling print providers to create differentiated, high-value applications. * Xerox(R) Proficio(TM) PX300 and PX500 feature updates: Enhanced with new Beyond CMYK and fifth-color options, including Gold, Silver and White, the Proficio PX300 and Proficio PX500 expand opportunities for metallic effects and printing on dark and transparent media. The Proficio PX300 now also features the Xerox(R) PredictPrint Media Manager, which uses AI-assisted cloud intelligence to simplify media setup and optimize color stability. At PRINTING United, Xerox will host demonstrations and discussions on generative AI for specialty print, workflow analytics and automation through Xerox(R) FreeFlow(R) Core and Xerox(R) FreeFlow(R) Vision Connect Software, and generative AI, along with business development resources available through the Genesis Initiative. Texas Supreme Court hears why Conduent says dentists can't sue over Medicaid ortho debacle.

Texas Supreme Court hears why Conduent says dentists can't sue over Medicaid ortho debacle. September 18, 2026 Twelve years after dentists filed suit over ACS/Xerox/Conduent's handling of the Texas Medicaid orthodontic prior authorization scandal, they are still waiting for their damages claims to reach trial. Two dentists in related cases against the company have already died while this litigation has dragged on, according to the attorney representing the dentists. Justice delayed is justice denied, they say. Back in August 2024, the Third Court of Appeals rejected Conduent's attempt to escape the lawsuit brought by M&M Orthodontics and Drs. Scott and Diana Malone. Two years later, the company is still fighting to keep the claims from proceeding to trial. To briefly rehash the history of the debacle, from 2004 to 2011, dentists submitted orthodontic prior authorization requests to the state's designated contractor, TMHP, then run by ACS Healthcare Services, for approval. Xerox later bought ACS and spun it off as Conduent. After receiving those approvals and providing treatment, the dentists faced payment holds, fraud allegations and demands for repayment by the state over whether the treatment was medically necessary after media revelations about the state-wide volume of such approvals came out in 2011. The dentists contend that Conduent failed to perform the meaningful reviews it was being paid by the state to conduct. According to their attorney, Jason Ray, proper reviews of the authorization requests and supporting dental records would have prevented the providers from being placed in that position with the state in the first place. Their lawsuit seeks compensation for the resulting harm. At the Supreme Court, Conduent argued that the state's control over its work entitled it to legal protections against the dentists' lawsuit even though the state had sued the company and extracted a $235.9 million settlement in 2019. Ray countered that the company was an independent contractor that hired and trained its own staff and controlled how it reviewed prior authorization requests. Much of the hearing focused on whether the company was legally entitled to bring this immediate appeal before trial. Justices questioned how a private contractor qualified under the statutory provision it invoked. They also explored whether another procedural route could resolve the immunity issues without further lengthy proceedings. Ray urged the Court to let the case proceed. He noted that the company had waited five years after the lawsuit was filed to raise its immunity arguments. The dentists, he emphasized, wanted their day in court. The Court took the case under consideration.

Investor calls on Xerox to 'unlock shareholder value'

Investor calls on Xerox to 'unlock shareholder value' A Czech investment fund that now holds a 7.34% stake in Xerox has called on the company's board to take "bold actions to unlock significant shareholder value". Prague-based Starteepo, which is led by chairman of the board František Bostl, sent a letter and presentation to the Xerox board on Monday (7 September). The letter stated: "Since PrintWeek first wrote to you in May, PrintWeek has increased its already significant investment in Xerox Holdings Corp. to a beneficial ownership of 7.34%, including stocks and options. "This action solidifies its position as one of Xerox's largest shareholders and demonstrates its deep conviction in the compelling opportunity PrintWeek see to create meaningful value for shareholders. "PrintWeek remain supportive of the efforts the board and management team have taken to improve Xerox's performance and believe the company's second quarter results demonstrate that solid progress is being made on every metric. "The operational turnaround is gaining traction, and both the top and bottom lines are growing. The Lexmark integration is well underway with synergy capture on track. Increased guidance shows management's confidence in the business, and the company has made notable headway deleveraging its balance sheet. "By every measure, the business has improved in the past four months. Despite all this progress, however, Xerox's enterprise value, which has consistently failed to capture the company's potential, is even lower today than when PrintWeek first made its position public. Starteepo went on to urge Xerox's board and management to unlock the value of Xerox Financial Services (XFS). "With the right strategy in place and proper execution, PrintWeek estimate that, based on precedent transactions, the XFS business could be worth roughly USD 7.69 per share - more than double the current share price for the entire company. "By its estimates, XFS, which finances customer equipment purchases, has an enterprise value of between $1.3bn and $1.5bn before a dollar of the core business is counted. "But this considerable value is buried in the company's financial disclosures, relegated to the balance-sheet notes and folded into the 'Print and Other' reporting segment, which obscures the income earned from fees, servicing, and renewals." The letter went on to outline a process Starteepo believed the Xerox board and management should take to grow XFS, with suggested measures including helping investors to better understand it, and to hire financial advisors to undertake a formal strategic review of the XFS business. Starteepo said the steps it proposed were intended "to complement - not replace - the strategy currently being executed by management". "Starteepo is a committed shareholder with a long-term perspective. We believe that, as a board, you can create considerable value for Xerox shareholders, and we stand ready to contribute constructively to the process of creating that value." In response, a Xerox spokesperson commented: "Xerox regularly engages with shareholders and values constructive input from all investors. "We have received the materials from Starteepo and will review them as part of our ongoing dialogue with shareholders and our commitment to creating long-term value." Last week, Xerox and Flint Group Digital Xeikon (FGDX) entered into a new strategic partnership that will see Xerox offer digital presses under the Xerox brand based on Xeikon's technology.
