Daktronics technology fuels Street Media Group's rapid Multi-State expansion.

Daktronics technology fuels Street Media Group's rapid Multi-State expansion. Colorado-based operator scales digital billboard network into new U.S. markets with support from long-standing Daktronics partnership. BROOKINGS, S.D. - May 11, 2026 - Daktronics (NASDAQ: DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, is highlighting the growth of Street Media Group (SMG), a 16-person out-of-home (OOH) company leveraging Daktronics digital display technology to grow rapidly across multiple states. What began as a hyperlocal Northern Colorado operator is now expanding into Kentucky, Nebraska and New Jersey, demonstrating how small, agile companies can scale successfully with reliable digital out-of-home (DOOH) technology and a strong manufacturing partner. For more than a decade, Daktronics and SMG have collaborated to deploy digital billboards, campus signage and community-focused displays across diverse markets. This long-standing partnership plays a key role in helping SMG grow its footprint while maintaining high-quality standards, dependable operations and efficient service. "Our growth into new states has been exciting - and Daktronics has been a huge part of making that possible," said Ashley Steinbach, general manager at Street Media Group. "When we take on a new market or a challenging site, we know we're not doing it alone. Their team listens, collaborates and problem-solves with us. That kind of partnership gives a small team like ours the confidence to think bigger, move faster and deliver high-quality displays our advertisers can trust." Bringing Digital Innovation to Colorado State University Part of SMG's growth includes a unique deployment at Colorado State University (CSU), where Daktronics displays serve multiple purposes: paid advertising, university-branded messaging and real-time safety notifications. This model provides CSU with new revenue opportunities and instant communication tools while giving SMG a compelling new environment for digital placements. Technology Behind SMG's Multi-State Growth Street Media Group's Daktronics installations include a variety of digital billboard configurations tailored to roadway visibility, zoning requirements and community settings. From traditional roadside displays to tight-pitch pedestrian units, Daktronics provides SMG with options that match each environment so they can apply the right technology for reliability and regulatory compliance. This streamlined approach ensures consistent quality across different markets and supports SMG's ability to expand quickly without sacrificing operational efficiency. "I've spent a lot of time with the Daktronics service and support teams, and they've been fantastic," added Steinbach. "They remember details, take feedback seriously and truly listen. It feels like a partnership where our success matters." "Street Media Group shows what's possible when a forward-thinking operator pairs smart expansion strategy with reliable digital technology," said Joni Schmeichel, OOH marketing strategist, Daktronics. "Their new markets, campus partnerships and innovative use of digital networks are great examples of how DOOH can support both business growth and community communication." As SMG continues to identify new installation opportunities across the country, Daktronics will support future deployments with evolving technology options, including dynamic content tools, light-direct solutions and pedestrian-focused displays. Stewart's Shops builds a local-first Retail Media Network With Daktronics and Vengo.

Stewart's Shops builds a local-first Retail Media Network With Daktronics and Vengo. Stewart's Shops, a 400+ location convenience store chain in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire, uses Venus Control Suite from Daktronics to power a growing, hyperlocal Retail Media Network. By blending community-focused content with programmatic revenue through Vengo, they've created a unique model that drives engagement, supports local advertisers, and generates passive income at scale. The hometown c-store building a modern Retail Media Network. Stewart's Shops has been part of Northeast communities for decades, known for fresh coffee, famous ice cream, and a genuine hometown feel. Behind the scenes, their marketing team is lean, hands-on, and remarkably resourceful. Melissa Kreider, Creative Director for Stewart's Shops, says, "We try to be the hometown convenience store... we fit the community that we're in." From dvds to dynamic digital signage. With 400+ convenience stores and a five-person creative team, Stewart's manages everything from packaging and private-label graphics to video production and advertising. Their single in-store LCD screen per location has evolved dramatically - from DVD loops in the early days to a full Retail Media Network powered by Daktronics Venus Control Suite. Originally placed near the checkout counter, Stewart's moved their LCD screens into more central "decision points" like coffee stations, creating better sightlines and higher engagement. Each one is mounted in a highly visible, central location. One screen per store works beautifully because: * Their stores are small and intentionally intimate * The screen is visible from almost anywhere * The content reinforces their hyperlocal identity Kreider says the transition from legacy systems to Venus Control Suite was "perfectly smooth." Venus Control Suite now allows the Stewart's team to centrally manage every display across its network. There's no store-level control, no fragmentation, and all content is aligned with brand priorities. Hyperlocal advertising: A win for the community. One of the most unique aspects of Stewart's Shops is how they use their screens to support local advertisers. They sell ad space directly to car dealers, real estate agents, Taekwondo studios, landscapers, and Airbnb cleaners in the Adirondacks. "I love that we're advertising your local landscaper or your local Taekwondo place," says Kreider. "If it's hyperlocal, it feels more relevant to the customer." Of course, Stewart's ads always remain a priority, protected through tiered scheduling and guardrails. Expanding into programmatic revenue with Vengo. Stewart's Shops first explored programmatic on their own, but challenges around impression multipliers and measurement led them to Vengo. Through Daktronics and Vengo's integration, Venus Control Suite customers like Stewart's can activate programmatic opportunities with just a few clicks. Once the setup was in place - mapping 400+ store addresses, screen types, coordinates, etc. - the program became effortless. "It was a heavy lift on the front end," says Kreider, "but now it's passive income - it just happens." Why Vengo works for Stewart's Shops. * Vengo handles impression data, dayparting, and ad performance * Stewart's retains brand control (they approve all advertisers) * The network appeals to large accounts like state lotteries * Vengo occupies 25% of Stewart's total playlist, leaving the rest for internal and local ads Getting major players like the New York State Lottery and Vermont Lottery on board was key, as those categories fit their customers and have natural alignment with their products. Balancing music, audio ads, silent ads & programmatic. Stewart's Shops runs a uniquely complex in-store media ecosystem, with a combination of: * Background music * Stewart's audio ads * Stewart's silent ads ("silent slates") * Direct-sold local ads * Vengo programmatic ads Scheduling must protect the customer experience, Kreider explains. They guarantee three local ad plays per hour and cap the number of paid advertisers per store. Through careful planning, they manage what is effectively 400 individual TV networks. With Daktronics hardware and Venus Control Suite at the core, and Vengo providing programmatic lift, Stewart's Shops has built a model that other regional c-stores, grocery chains, and on-premise retailers can learn from. Ready to build or expand your Retail Media Network? Daktronics helps customers inform, engage, and inspire through dynamic digital displays - supporting c-stores, OOH networks, retail chains, and on-premise environments around the world. Whether you're starting with one screen or scaling to hundreds, Daktronics, Inc. is here to help you grow.

Unveiling Camino 8: A closer look at what's new.

Unveiling Camino 8: A closer look at what's new. With the release of Camino 8, Daktronics is introducing the next generation of its real-time render engine, built to help teams turn live data into compelling, dynamic visuals. In a recent episode of The Daktronics Experience podcast, Camino Solutions Engineer Eric Edens joined the team to share how Camino 8 came together and what it unlocks for game-day storytelling. Building Momentum Through Real-World Projects Over the past few years, the Camino team has been quietly building toward this release while gaining valuable experience through high-profile projects across professional and collegiate sports. Eric shared examples from venues like the LA Kings, New England Patriots, and several major college programs, where Camino has been used to visualize real-time data in new and engaging ways. One standout example came from hockey, where Camino was used to display live "players on ice" graphics that update automatically with line changes, penalties, and shifts. By relying on real-time data and built-in logic, operators no longer need to manually switch graphics as conditions change. Instead, the system responds on its own, freeing staff to focus on other parts of the show while giving fans a clearer picture of what's happening during play. Designed for Creatives, Not Just Engineers A major focus of Camino 8 was improving usability. Earlier versions of Camino were powerful but often felt like they were built primarily for technical users. With Camino 8, the team set out to shorten the learning curve and make the software feel familiar for artists already working in tools like Cinema 4D or After Effects. Workflows such as animation, keyframing, and logic creation have been redesigned to feel more intuitive. Rather than writing scripts or memorizing syntax, users can now build conditions and behaviors through guided visual tools. This makes it easier for motion designers and video creatives to step into live graphics without needing an engineering background. More Connected, More Flexible Workflows Camino 8 is also more tightly integrated with Daktronics' broader control ecosystem. Through cloud connectivity and Data Studio integration, users can access real data as soon as they open the software. This allows teams to build and test graphics outside the control room, replay games, or even work remotely while still seeing how content responds to live data. For venues where operators cannot easily see all displays from the control room, this flexibility opens the door to faster iteration and more confident decision-making. Content can be refined and adjusted without interrupting live workflows. A More Powerful Real-Time Render Engine Under the hood, Camino 8 includes an updated real-time render engine designed to make better use of system resources. While Eric avoided specific performance numbers, the takeaway was clear: teams can now push more pixels, more objects, and more animations without sacrificing playback reliability. As displays continue to grow larger and pixel pitches get tighter, this efficiency becomes increasingly important. Camino 8 is built to keep pace with the evolving demands of modern venues. Expanding Beyond the Video Board For the first time, Camino 8 also introduces a dedicated broadcast CG option. This allows Camino to be used not only for LED displays but also as part of a broader production workflow, supporting key/fill output for broadcast, streaming, or in-venue video. With a single editor and shared graphics platform, teams can streamline content creation and trigger graphics across multiple outputs from one system. Looking Ahead Camino 8 represents a significant step forward for real-time graphics and live event storytelling. By combining more intuitive workflows, deeper data integration, and a more powerful render engine, it gives production teams new tools to engage audiences and elevate the game-day experience. The full episode is available now, including a video version for those who want to see Camino 8 in action.
