Keyfactor provides cybersecurity solutions focused on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and machine identity management. Its platform automates the entire certificate lifecycle—from issuance and deployment to monitoring and renewal—for servers, cloud instances, and IoT devices. The company differentiates itself with full lifecycle automation and visibility of cryptographic assets, expanded by acquisitions InfoSec Global and CipherInsights to improve crypto‑agility and asset discovery across environments. Its goal is to reduce security risks, prevent outages caused by expired or mismanaged certificates, and simplify compliance by maintaining trusted digital identities across machines and communications.

Keyfactor has announced plans to acquire Cofide, a UK-based platform that issues verified identities to software workloads and AI agents in cloud environments. Financial terms were not disclosed. Cofide addresses the security gap created by automated systems vastly outnumbering employees in enterprise environments. Most are still secured with static credentials that can be copied or stolen. The platform replaces these with unique, short-lived verified identities using cryptographic proof, built on open standards including SPIFFE, OAuth and OIDC. The acquisition will integrate Cofide into Keyfactor's Trust Control Plane, creating a unified system for managing non-human identities alongside certificates and keys. Cofide's team and technology join immediately. Keyfactor raised over one billion dollars earlier this month for machine identity and post-quantum trust initiatives.
Keyfactor, a trust infrastructure platform for managing machine identities and cryptographic assets, has secured over $1 billion in strategic growth investment led by Summit Partners. Existing investors Insight Partners and Sixth Street Growth will maintain significant ownership stakes. The company serves more than 2,500 customers globally, including 50% of the largest US and European banks, 80% of leading US retailers, and over 40% of Fortune 100 companies. Keyfactor issues and manages billions of machine identities annually. The investment will fund product innovation, geographic expansion, team growth, and strategic acquisitions. The funding comes as organisations face mounting pressure to manage AI-driven identity sprawl, shrinking certificate lifespans, and prepare for post-quantum cryptography transitions ahead of 2030 government deadlines. Summit Partners' Andy Collins and Colin Mistele will join Keyfactor's board following the transaction's close.
Funding will support expansion of Keyfactor's trust infrastructure platform for AI, machine identity security and post-quantum cryptography.
Keyfactor has launched the Trust Control Plane, a unified system for managing machine identities and cryptographic infrastructure across enterprises. The platform addresses growing challenges from AI-driven identity sprawl, shrinking certificate lifespans, tightening regulations and quantum computing threats. The Trust Control Plane consolidates fragmented cryptographic tools into a single operating model, providing security teams with continuous visibility, automated operations and enforced governance. The system operates through a continuous loop of observing, analysing, provisioning, orchestrating and governing cryptographic assets. The platform enables organisations to discover hidden cryptographic risks, issue quantum-resilient identities, automate compliance workflows and adapt to emerging security standards. Keyfactor positions the solution as essential infrastructure for the AI and post-quantum era, moving security teams from reactive certificate management to proactive control of digital trust foundations.
Keyfactor, a digital trust solutions provider, has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate authorization for its Certificate Lifecycle Automation as a Service (CLAaaS) offering designed for US federal agencies. The cloud-based platform, delivered through the Keyfactor Command console, enables agencies to discover, manage, issue, renew and report on digital certificates across hybrid environments. The authorization provides federal customers with improved certificate visibility, automated processes, reduced outage risk and enhanced readiness for cryptographic changes. The development addresses growing federal requirements around zero trust and post-quantum cryptography migration, whilst helping agencies reduce manual certificate operations and operational burden. The offering is now available on the FedRAMP Marketplace.
