Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or completed and/or a recognized craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering with demonstrated experience in the field.
  • High level knowledge of electrical power generation and distribution systems for industrial equipment.
  • Ideally have knowledge of networking systems such as, Modbus, Ethernet, 61850, Fiber.
  • Be self reliant, resourceful and a problem solver with well developed commercial awareness.
  • Experienced in representing the Company at customers’ sites and operating remotely on own initiative whilst observing the requirements set down in the Company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Able to work with Company’s rules and guidance notes on health and safety, including operation of safe systems of work in relation to high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and work in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Able and willingness travel when called upon and on short notice on a regular basis both domestically and internationally 75% - 85% of the time or as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities
  • Commissioning High Voltage Generators, Motors, Synchronous condensers, Power management systems (PMS), Electrical protection systems, Excitation Controllers (AVRs), and Synchronizing equipment.
  • Performing role while applying company health and safety procedures applicable to the job site.
  • Conducting upgrades to AVRS, PMS systems, Synchronizers, Protection relays and other control elements.
  • Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
  • Practicing some degree of project management at site.
  • Delivering training on Brush products to clients and field service colleagues.
  • Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and technical requirements. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises.
