Requirements
  • 14+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in an engineering management role, preferably in platform or software engineering
  • Deep knowledge on software engineering around Java, Springboot, integration tech like Kafka, akamai and related, relational databases like SQL and Azure cloud
  • Experience implementing RESTful and/or traditional web services using technologies such as JSON, SOAP, XML
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving technical excellence
  • Speaks with data and metrics, someone with experience in managing technology products and deliver iterative improvements evidenced by data, aiding strong problem-solving skills with a history of delivering scalable, high-impact solutions in fast-paced environments
  • Come with a product value mindset and challenge the team to incrementally deliver value to the users, customers and business, driving ability to define and execute on long-term technical roadmaps that align with company goals and drive business impact
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in Logistics domain will be added advantage
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership design, develop, and deploy mission-critical solutions for the Depots platform
  • Technical Vision to shape the architectural direction of the platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and high-performing to support current and future business needs
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration with product, operations, and other engineering teams across geo’s and time-zones to ensure alignment with business objectives and to deliver seamless, integrated solutions
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and growth, guiding your team through challenges and supporting their professional development
  • Innovation & Problem Solving through identifying opportunities to optimize the depots platform through automation, new technologies, and innovative engineering solutions
  • Lead Operational Excellence to ensure the platform is resilient, reliable, and delivers high availability to meet the demands of our global operations

Maersk Invests in Vertoro for Green Fuels

Danish shipping giant Maersk, via Maersk Growth, is investing in Dutch start-up Vertoro to advance its liquid lignin technology for marine fuels. This investment will help Vertoro build a demo plant operational by 2022, producing lignin-based fuels. Maersk sees lignin as a key to decarbonizing shipping, alongside biodiesel, alcohols, and ammonia. This is Maersk's third recent investment in future fuels, following investments in WasteFuel and Prometheus.
