Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical preferred); advanced degree highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience in thermoplastics applications for automotive systems.
  • Experience in injection molding, extrusion processes, and coolant contact applications.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable plans.
  • Proven ability to lead customer-focused innovation projects, deliver complex technical presentations, and manage gated project processes.
Responsibilities
  • Increase global customer engagement by aligning Ascend’s material portfolio with various thermal management and coolant contact requirements.
  • Replicate existing global successes with newly identified customers as well as translating them to new application development opportunities.
  • Lead product positioning campaigns to further validate and position solutions against existing global automotive specifications, while optimizing performance for various requirements as needed.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts and customers to overcome technical challenges in thermal systems, with a particular focus on developing innovative solutions for automotive applications.
  • Provide guidance to global customers, leveraging design tools (e.g., CAD, CAE) and simulation techniques (e.g., injection molding) to ensure success.
  • Co-develop cohesive roadmaps in the reliable thermal management segment, driving alignment and growth opportunities.
  • Develop new thermal management and cooling solutions that address customer challenges and enhance product value propositions globally and drive data preparation, application testing, and customer trials.
