Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience
- Experience with custom chemical equipment design, equipment commissioning and plant integration
- Experience with technical studies, FEED, and systems design experience including process design basis, mass balances, PFDs, and P&IDs
- Experience with designing equipment with corrosive fluids
- Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team
- Strong desire to learn, innovate, and implement creative solutions
- Well organized, with the ability to multi-task
- Able to lead equipment design process and be a part of multi-disciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- Lead process design efforts on custom chemical processing equipment
- Play a key role in reviewing key design documents such as process design basis, material balances, PFDs, P&IDs. This will include the technology packages performed by Lilac, and those by the EPCM, and ensure there is full technical alignment between both packages
- Participate in, and sometimes lead design reviews and HAZOPs
- Interface with the EPCM on all process engineering related areas. This will include dealing with various questions and challenges that need to be addressed during the design phase
- Review process equipment deliverables such as line sizing, pressure relief valves sizing, mechanical equipment data sheets, and instrument process data sheets
- Provide input, and produce some of the process deliverables for the Lilac technology packages
- Provide preliminary cost estimates on projects, when necessary
- Work with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and controls engineering to ensure deliverables are technically accurate, within scope, and suitable for intended purposes
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient with process simulation software (e.g. SysCAD)
- Proficient with fluid simulation software (e.g. AFT Fathom)
