Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent career experience is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of direct experience in pharmacy, pharmacy benefit managers, or related industries is required, including at least 5 years in a sales operations or account management role with proven success.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmacy benefit manager contracts and clinical pharmacy, or experience analyzing and negotiating with pharmacy manufacturers and products, is required.
  • Experience leading teams, managing projects, and developing strategic partnerships is required.
  • The candidate must have a consultative presence and polished written and oral communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strategic thinking, challenge the status quo, ask tough questions, and innovate solutions.
  • Strong influence and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with management and cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • The candidate must stay current with developments in pharmacy and broader health and benefits plan strategies and contribute to new tools and approaches.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel as needed, with travel expected to be no more than 25%.
  • A state Life and Health license is required within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Function as a primary pharmacy benefits consultant and strategic partner for Marsh McLennan Agency Southeast field offices and a book of clients, managing pharmacy benefit programs end-to-end.
  • Lead client pharmacy market bids, requests for proposals, and pharmacy benefit manager vendor procurement and negotiations.
  • Conduct pharmacy analytics with Southeast Pharmacy Practice analytic partners on pharmacy benefit manager financial and operational performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Present results, recommendations, and overall pharmacy benefit consulting to clients, prospects, and internal teams during several types of meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clinical pharmacists, actuarial, financial, analytics, health management, and wellbeing teams to develop multi-year integrated pharmacy and clinical strategies.
  • Co-lead regular training sessions for Southeast colleagues on clinical and pharmacy topics to enhance knowledge and support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Southeast offices, producers, client teams, and strategic partners.
  • Drive growth by serving as the pharmacy benefits expert in new client pursuits, crafting tailored messaging and solutions with the Regional Director of Pharmacy to expand pharmacy benefits revenue.
  • Contribute pharmacy insights to broader health and benefits strategy and growth initiatives.
  • Develop new pharmacy approaches and engage with new solution vendors to explore strategic partnerships and solution opportunities.
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring other consultants within the pharmacy practice.
  • Support strategic partnerships through their launch, maintenance, and enhancement.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy practice, including coordinating workflow, supporting process improvements, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy practice leadership to implement operational policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Support resource planning and allocation to meet client demands and project timelines effectively.

Marsh beats Q1 estimates with $7.6B revenue, $3.29 EPS as organic growth hits 5%

Marsh reported Q1 revenue of $7.6 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year, beating the consensus estimate of $7.38 billion by 2.88%. Earnings per share came in at $3.29, compared to $3.06 in the prior-year quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of $3.21 by 2.46%. Key metrics showed mixed performance against analyst expectations. Consolidated organic revenue growth of 5% exceeded the 3.5% estimate, whilst consulting organic growth of 5% topped the 4.4% forecast. However, Guy Carpenter's organic growth of 2% fell short of the 4.2% estimate. Geographically, Marsh's EMEA division generated $1.21 billion in revenue, up 14.1% year-over-year and beating estimates. Mercer consulting revenue reached $1.66 billion, an 11% increase that surpassed the $1.58 billion consensus.
