Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2–4 years of related experience are required.
  • A Security+ certification or another qualifying Information Assurance Technical Level II certification is required.
  • A VMware VCP certification is required, with the ability to obtain it within 120 days.
  • A Dell VxRail Operate certification is required, with the ability to obtain it within 120 days.
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • A detailed understanding of storage and virtualization processes is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of server virtualization and hardware is required.
  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere, including managing ESXi hosts and virtual machines, is required.
  • The ability to troubleshoot VMware vSphere and hardware-related issues is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • The role requires availability for day, swing, and mid-shifts in a 24/7/365 mission, with possible rotating shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Design, monitor, maintain, and lead the engineering process for a secure information storage environment and backup solutions, including high-capacity databases, networks, and systems.
  • Configure, implement, and administer storage strategies, solutions, and protocols.
  • Provide technical and application support and backup, and evaluate present and future storage capacity requirements.
  • Execute new installations, updates, and deployments using knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, computer applications, technical support, and business needs.
  • Provide occasional support for business development activities when required.
  • Perform remote server and storage management.
  • Attend meetings required by the section.
  • Build, configure, and maintain virtual machines, servers, and storage solutions.
  • Provide diagnostics and technical resolution for local and remote assets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve trouble tickets using BMC Remedy and ServiceNow.
  • Interact directly with customers to provide service and resolve issues.
  • Communicate issues and recommendations to leadership clearly and concisely.
  • Document work for the Storage and Virtualization team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi.
  • Experience maintaining and patching VMware vSphere environments.
  • Ability to perform incremental and full backups with Commvault.
  • Strong mentorship skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Direct experience with VMware vSphere.
  • Experience with storage and hardware solutions for virtualized computing environments.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Preferred experience with Dell servers and storage solutions.
