DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer

We are a fast-growing university career center SaaS platform, searching for a highly motivated DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer. Your Role

As the sole DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer on our team, you will take full ownership of our infrastructure and operational processes. Your mission is to ensure our platform is highly available, reliable, performant, and secure, and that our company is compliant with governance standards like SOC 2. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter to make a significant impact in our organization and help shape the future of our operational excellence.

Responsibilities

●Design, implement, and maintain a highly available, reliable, and secure infrastructure on Azure, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.

● Proactively monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure health and performance to ensure high availability and performance

● Ensure governance and compliance, including managing SOC 2 compliance and maintaining IT policy documentation.

● Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes.

● Build, optimize, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments.

● Collaborate with software engineering teams to implement scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.

● Ensure that implementation, processes, and solutions are fully documented

● Serve as the subject-matter expert for infrastructure-related topics, advising on architecture, security, and scaling strategies.

Your Experience

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field

● 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar role in a SaaS environment

● Strong experience with Azure services, architecture, and security, performance, and high availability best practices

● Proficient with scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar

● Proficient in Bicep, ARM templates, or similar

● Extensive experience with monitoring and alerting tools to ensure system health and performance.

● Self-starter, highly motivated, innovative thinker, and able to work independently and take ownership

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deliverables

Infrastructure

The majority of our code is in a single solution written in .NET C# with dozens of projects. While the codebase and architecture is mostly monolithic, we do have a few microservices as well. We deploy our solutions to our largely platform as a service Azure infrastructure primarily using biceps.

Azure services we utilize include App Services, SQL Database, Service Bus, Redis, Functions, Event Hubs, and Virtual Machines. We also use Cloudflare and AWS S3.

Tools we use include TeamCity (for build and deploy), Vanta, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Notion, Slack, and GSuite for our day-to-day tasks.

Annual compensation: $120,000 - $150,000

The annual compensation range for this position is listed above. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on company compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location.

In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for equity. Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), and paid time off.
