Python Engineer
We are looking for a skilled Python developer with extensive experience in web-development. You will be assisting in the development of multiple internal web applications and are responsible for updating and maintaining the backend of the products. You will be working together with a small team of developers and product designers to deliver excellent products.
You will also be working on supporting our colleagues with general IT tasks. You have a natural enthusiasm for helping others and contributing to enhanced productivity of our dynamic workforce. Using the support questions you receive, you identify common problems and automate repetitive tasks.
What you’ll do
- You will work on multiple web applications using Python frameworks and technologies like Flask/Django, SQLAlchemy, HTML & CSS, Javascript
- You will be helping our colleagues troubleshoot and solve their IT questions and you will be key in preventing them
- Save your colleagues time and brainpower by automating repetitive support tasks using various technologies like Ansible, Bash and Python
- You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the available software suite on our laptop fleet using software and device management solutions like JAMF and Munki
Who you are
- You can demonstrate extensive experience with the Python, Flask/Django, SQLAlchemy and other closely related technologies
- You understand the principles of object oriented programming and know how to apply them to real world situations
- You are no stranger to front end web-development technologies like HTML, CSS, Javascript
- You have no problems designing efficient databases to make sure the product is always 10x scalable
- You have worked on large projects before and understand the importance of knowledge sharing and creating extensive documentation
- REST API’s should be familiar to you and you have no problem designing one.
- You are able to identify repetitive tasks and take initiative to automate them
- You are no stranger to the Terminal and you know how to navigate the UNIX filesystem and edit files without the use of a GUI
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Data Analytics are considered a plus
