Telemetry Tech/ Patient Care Tech- Hudson Valley - Full Time - Nights
Shine at the patient's side as a Telemetry Technician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley. Monitor one of the most vital measurements of life, health, and success for our patients: their heartbeat. Be the eyes and ears of your colleagues by observing electrocardiogram (EKG) patterns. Note the patient's rhythm and alert nurses and physicians of changes or arrhythmic behavior. Make it possible for patients in the most sensitive of conditions by making excellence a personal matter.
Work directly with the Nursing Team to closely monitor EKG patterns of select patients placed on telemetry monitoring. Visualize the patient's EKG rhythm relative to predetermined parameters using high-tech equipment. Document cardiac activity, observe arrhythmia, and inform the appropriate nurse or physician of changes. In this role, you will work as a Telemetry Tech and Patient Care Tech (50/50).
This is a full time night shift position working 6:30p-7:30 with rotating weekends and holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital (located in Cortlandt Manor, Upper Westchester County, NY).
Preferred Criteria
Prior Patient Care Technician/Nursing Attendant/Medical assistant experience or Nursing Student who has completed at least one clinical rotation or previous experience relevant to department.
Phlebotomy experience
At least one year experience in Telemetry or Electrocardiogram (EKG)
Required Criteria
High School diploma or GED
Completed EKG Technician Certification Program or related course work
BLS from American Heart Association
