Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC.  The staff nurse provides direct nursing care to residents, delegates and supervises the care provided by nursing assistants. The person in the position administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, obtains specimens as needed, completes documentation as required.  

This position would be 7 am - 7 pm Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Provides daily supervision to assigned staff and directly provides nursing care to residents in SNF, Assisted Living, Wellness Center, Dementia Unit, Independent Living Units as needed.
• Participates in the admission of new residents.
• Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living.
• Responds to resident call system promptly and courteously.
• Identifies resident medical and behavioral changes.
• Manages and monitors the care plans.
• Reports critical information to supervisors and Director of Nursing.
• Administers medication and reorders medicines.
• Monitors the environment to assure quality nursing care.
• Participates in care plan meetings.
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Requirements

• Awareness of the needs of geriatric residents
• Mathematical skills, reasoning abilities, language skills.
