Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for managing the supply base for one or more Impulse products from the prototype stage up to and through production; this includes sourcing strategy for the product(s) in cooperation with the engineering teams, Clear-to-Build activities, component cost management, second sourcing, component forecasting, Post-Ramp Qualification, etc
  • Be an integral part of supply base strategy discussions, including vendor, contract manufacturer, and partner discussions at all phases of development
  • Be a key partner in vendor and contract manufacturer assessments and contract negotiations to ensure the fitness and stability of the Impulse supply base worldwide
  • Manage Design for Availability at Impulse, where COTS and semi-custom component availability are considered during the architecture and design phases of the product life cycle
  • Travel both domestically and internationally (roughly 20%) primarily to support Impulse build events
  • Have the opportunity to shape the responsibilities of your role based on your competencies and interests
  • A minimum of 5 years working in operations in a supply base/supply chain role preferably in the consumer electronics, automotive, or aerospace/defense spaces
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical, mathematical, or finance area is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you will be working with a globally-distributed team in different time zones and conciseness is key
  • Demonstrated experience of end-to-end supply chain management: from early engagement with engineering, supplier management, commercial contracts, RFPs/RFQs and product maturity
  • Strong reasoning and analytical skills and the ability to make and justify difficult decisions; you'll be expected (and empowered!) to make decisions for the entire organization
  • Ability to prioritize, execute, and when necessary, delegate tasks in a large workload
  • Experience with international suppliers especially in Asia; working proficiency in Mandarin is a plus but not required
  • Comfortable working in a Series A hardware startup with all that entails
