Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social science, business, or a healthcare-related field, or equivalent education from an accredited college or university.
  • Cultural and ethnic expertise in the Chinese community in the greater Bay Area.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with physicians, staff, volunteers, and community leaders.
  • A proven track record of building successful partnerships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin, including the ability to accurately speak, read, and interpret Mandarin.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage outreach and educational programs for the Chinese community.
  • Partner with Community Benefits, Business Development, and Community Relations leaders to develop and implement marketing, business-plan, and communication strategies for specific target audiences.
  • Chair advisory boards consisting of volunteer physicians and community leaders to engage the Chinese community in the Chinese Health Initiative.
  • Engage the community through activities such as health education and screening events.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers.
  • Work with inpatient and outpatient managers to increase cultural sensitivity regarding the beliefs and preferences of Chinese people in a multicultural work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five years of marketing, communications, education, and/or community outreach experience with program development experience in health care.
