Requirements
  • Maintain an active Nevada Physical Therapy license from the Nevada State Board within 60 days of employment.
  • Be willing to travel to other Reno Orthopedic Center locations as needed by management.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed physical treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction.
  • Review physician referrals and patient medical records, and confer with patients and appropriate medical practitioners to plan, implement, and assess intervention programs.
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Test, measure, and record patients’ strength, motor development, functional capacity, sensory perception, and respiratory or circulatory efficiency in the electronic medical record.
  • Analyze patient progress and data, document findings in the electronic medical record, and modify interventions to achieve anticipated goals and outcomes, including referring patients to other practitioners as needed.
  • Educate patients about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote health.
  • Instruct patients in the use of assistive devices, including wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes, and in treatment procedures to continue at home.
  • Discharge patients from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes are attained and provide appropriate follow-up care or referrals.

  • Physical Therapy Compact privileges are welcome.
  • Interest in specialty certifications, conferences, license renewals, or participation in the Orthopedic Residency Program is supported.
  • Ability to work with electronic medical records, including Epic GardenPlot, is relevant to the role.
