Requirements
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field). Note: Extensive NAVSEA or submarine-related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5–7 years of experience supporting U.S. Navy acquisition programs, ideally within NAVSEA, PEO Submarines, or related organizations.
  • 3 or more years of experience working within or supporting large-scale government or DoD organizations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience supporting submarine programs, ideally involving R&D, systems engineering, or acquisition support.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality technical and strategic documentation under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, scheduling, and presentation development.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively within a high-tempo environment.
  • 10% travel required.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to develop high-quality documentation, schedules, plans, and presentations.
  • Provide comprehensive project management support, aligning efforts between project management, financial teams, and technical/R&D stakeholders.
  • Generate both strategic and tactical documentation, including schedules, plans, and briefing materials to support short- and long-term planning for the SSN(X) technical and R&D teams.
  • Consolidate input from diverse stakeholders into cohesive reports, presentations, and planning documents under tight deadlines.
  • Manage version control and document tracking through internal and external review cycles, ensuring accurate and timely final product delivery.
  • Compile and summarize tasking proposals received by PMS 4XX, producing high-level documentation to support funding decisions and prioritization for upcoming fiscal years.
  • Track task execution throughout the year, maintaining records of deliverables and documenting progress.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating technical studies, meetings, and working groups with subject matter experts to define problems and establish areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare briefing materials, agendas, and rosters for team meetings; coordinate security clearance for participants, manage attendance, take detailed meeting notes, and produce official summaries and action trackers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior active-duty submarine service, particularly with experience in nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, or ship design/development.
  • Recent experience supporting Team Submarine, including PMS 4XX, PMS 397, PMS 450, or NAVSEA 05 directorates.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, budgeting cycles, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and R&D management.
  • Experience organizing and facilitating technical working groups, program reviews, or design reviews within a naval or defense context.
