Requirements
  • At least 5 years of QA or SDET experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience and at least 1 year with Azure or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including kubectl, Helm, operators, custom resource definitions, persistent volume claims, StatefulSets, ArgoCD or Flux, network policies, and node affinity.
  • Fluency with Azure and GCP, including AKS, GKE, Azure Monitor, GCP Cloud Monitoring, Key Vault, Cloud KMS, Managed Identities, and Workload Identity.
  • Ability to read Terraform, Ansible, and Helm charts to understand deployed infrastructure and trace issues to root cause.
  • Ability to design and document tests across reliability, availability, scalability, security, observability, performance, recoverability, and upgradability using Given/When/Then style.
  • Experience reading metrics, logs, and traces using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, and Alertmanager.
  • Experience with security and FedRAMP-aware testing, including TLS termination, certificate rotation, secret management, RBAC, container image scanning, audit-log verification, and control-family evidence generation.
  • Ability to collaborate in design reviews and planning as a technical peer.
  • Ability to write test documentation for mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and comfort operating across two platforms in parallel.
  • A security mindset focused on platform reliability and defect prevention.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end validation of Azure Local and the FedRAMP-authorized GCP deployment through initial deployment, Day-2 operations, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Design, execute, and document solution-level test cases across the full reliability, availability, scalability, security, observability, performance, recoverability, and upgradability spectrum.
  • Test and troubleshoot Kubernetes environments across kubectl, Helm, operators, custom resource definitions, persistent volume claims, StatefulSets, ArgoCD or Flux, network policies, and node affinity.
  • Validate Azure AKS and GCP GKE environments and their monitoring, key-management, identity, and workload-identity integrations.
  • Reproduce customer or production incidents in a lab, trace issues from infrastructure-as-code through Kubernetes to cloud resources, identify root causes with engineering, and author regression tests.
  • Deliberately break and recover nodes, pods, network paths, and storage to verify service-level objectives under failure.
  • Apply chaos-engineering tooling such as LitmusChaos or Chaos Mesh where useful.
  • Verify system behavior through metrics, logs, and traces rather than HTTP status codes alone.
  • Test TLS termination, certificate rotation, secret management, RBAC boundaries, and container image scanning on the GCP deployment.
  • Verify audit logging in GCP Cloud Logging and generate evidence aligned to FedRAMP Moderate or High control families.
  • Apply corresponding security controls on the Azure Local platform where they cross-map.
  • Pair with engineers on design reviews, feature-freeze planning, and Day-2 playbooks.
  • Coordinate with global stakeholders across different time zones as business needs require.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Zephyr or native Jira Test issue types.
  • Experience with LitmusChaos, Chaos Mesh, or equivalent chaos-engineering tools.
  • Prior FedRAMP experience or experience in regulated environments such as SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, or DISA STIG.
  • Experience with distributed data services including Kafka, Redis, MariaDB/Galera, MinIO, or other S3-compatible object storage.
