Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of five years of experience performing primary responsibilities listed above.
  • Experience in self-perform civil construction is required, preference for excavation and utilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
  • Experience using HCSS, Bluebeam.
  • All candidates agree to complete an assessment for selection and pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Lead cost estimates for mid-size projects, ensuring all scope components are accurately defined and priced.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks, opportunities, and key estimating factors.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and verify scope coverage.
  • Analyze historical cost data and market trends to enhance estimate accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases for improved estimating efficiency.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in core estimating processes, such as earthwork takeoffs and sitework analysis.
  • Help support the refinement of estimating software tools, such as Agtek, HeavyBid, or other estimating software.
  • Help support the standardization of estimating methodologies within the team and provide process improvement recommendations.
  • Assist in developing preconstruction strategies and budgeting exercises.
  • Research and track potential bid opportunities in key market sectors, such as federal, municipal, and private developments.
  • Support proposal writing by contributing technical details and pricing breakdowns.
  • Participate in bid reviews, site visits, and meetings with field leadership to refine project understanding.
