Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or graduate of a military training program
  • Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) | North Dakota Board of Nursing | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
  • Licensed Practical Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management System
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Responsibilities
  • Organizes and prepares case set-up prior to start of case
  • Cleans, assembles, operates, and properly cares for instruments, supplies, and equipment used in team specialties
  • Provides patient care, according to diagnosis/procedure, utilizing the procedure cards and following established hospital policies and procedures
  • Documents procedure changes on procedure cards following each case according to standard operating procedures
  • Identifies and communicates unusual techniques and instruments required for surgery
  • Participates in measuring and monitoring Quality Indicators and outcomes
  • Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization
