About the job:
The role will provide support in each of the above areas, in particular setting pricing vision and in analysis on a pipeline of strategic pricing projects. The candidate must have proven ability to think strategically and tactically – connecting the “big picture” through to operational details as well as analytical (quantitative and qualitative) and structured problem-solving skills.
About the team:
The Commercial Strategy & Data Insights team is part of Market Planning and supports the following key responsibilities:
Business Strategy: Support strategy development in collaboration with the Market Planning vertical team by driving key medium-to-long term strategic initiatives, including pricing, marketing, and international expansion.
Business & Financial Analytics: Support growth strategies with financial analytics including performance analysis, data visualization, forecasting, and modeling.
Market Discovery: Provide support and / or leadership where appropriate for market discovery to understand key market trends, market requirements as well as investigate future growth opportunities and / or protect existing books of business.
Buy, Build, Partner: Lead acquisition and partnership strategy including research of potential targets, development of courting strategies, commercial diligence, and partnership agreements in conjunction with Corporate Strategy. \
Market Insights: Review and monitor competitive landscape.
Responsibilities:
Support strategy development projects, including pricing strategy, market discovery for product roadmap and researching potential markets / adjacencies for entry. Research might include designing and managing projects that deliver actionable recommendations for the business while analysis might include internal and external data mining for key insights.
Support M&A projects by undertaking market analysis, target company analysis and revenue synergy modelling.
Support the formulation of funding requests for significant, organic investments.
Provide information to support the market and business development portions of the business planning process.
Provide market and competitive intelligence in support of pricing, product roadmap, and portfolio analysis.
Assist in the development and delivery of presentations to communicate results of analysis and provide insights to drive business decisions
Work closely with other functional areas (e.g., Corporate Strategy, Product, and Sales) to meet research needs.
Act as a strategic partner to senior management by fulfilling ad hoc research requests.
Performs other ad hoc duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Must have 2 or more years’ experience defining objectives, deliverables, scope, approach, and timeline for projects delivering meaningful impact to a business line.
Must be able to collaborate with leaders to develop actionable, impactful recommendations and analytics solutions.
Must be able to prepare compelling presentations to clearly communicate the case for change.
Must have demonstrated ability to insightfully set the vision for projects that requires a mix of qualitative and quantitative research.
Must be able to ask the right questions of key stakeholders to inform independent analysis.
Must be able to incorporate historical financial data into a forecast with reasonable assumptions.
Must be able to work independently, leveraging expertise as well as soliciting/integrating input from subject matter experts throughout the company.
Must possess an analytical mind, strong written and oral communication, the ability to work with individuals at all levels, the ability to manage multiple projects
Strong working knowledge of tools and techniques for gathering and disseminating competitive intelligence information and appropriate application to specific assignments necessary.
