The Engineering Test Technician provides support across the Engineering and Manufacturing functions to execute experiments and tests, generate data, analyze data, formulate conclusions based upon the data and test environment and inform the output of the test with regard to test objectives and next generation lithium ion batteries for electric mobility.

Contribute to testing for lithium ion cells, modules and energy storage systems.
Partner with Applications Engineering to test new cells or special purpose battery tests
Design experimental and standard tests for new products
Participate in Design Reviews & Requirement Traceability
- Deliver Test Compliance Matrix
- Understand Certification/Regulatory Requirements to execute lab tests (MIL-STD 461, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, UL2580, S9310, DNVGL, ABS, Bureau Veritas, etc.)
- Integrate New Product Introduction requirements into product deployment

- Document Test Articles, Test Configuration, Reference Documents
- Collect Data, Analyze, Evaluate Trends & Report Findings
- Write test scripts based on purpose of test
Participate in Battery & Cell Electrical Performance Testing in Engineering Laboratory or Testing Facility with guidance from the Test Engineer
- Perform Open-Circuit-Voltage (OCV)
- Perform AC Impedance
- Perform Open-Circuit-Voltage (OCV) vs. State of Charge (SOC) @ Temperatures
- Perform Capacity @ Temperature vs. Discharge
- Perform DC Internal Resistance
- Perform Cycle Life Testing
- Perform Thermal Cycle Testing
- Perform System Level Testing
Participate in Battery & Cell Abnormal Testing in Engineering Laboratory or Testing Facility with guidance from the Test Engineer
- Perform Overcharge & Discharge
- Perform External Short (hard & soft)
- Perform Thermal Abuse
Participate in Battery & Cell Environmental Testing in Engineering Laboratory or Testing Facility with guidance from the Test Engineer
- Perform Random Vibration Testing
- Perform Shock Testing
- Perform Humidity & Salt Fog Testing
Execute Cell Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) with guidance from the Test Engineer
Execute Test Failure Report to include product data analysis with guidance from the Test Engineer
Perform integration of battery systems with power electronics and varied loads
Execute Final Acceptance Test for High Voltage battery systems
Participate in cross functional teams in Design Failure Mode Effects (and Criticality) Analyses (DFMEA), Root Cause Investigations, Functional Safety Hazard Analyses, and similar processes
