Principal Engineer

About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced PIPING (Layout), Principal Engineer to be based in Mumbai office, who will have around 16+ years relevant Piping Design & Detail Engineering experience, mostly in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sector with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations. You should be effective with verbal and written communication skills.

Skills and Responsibilities:

In this role you will undertake the following duties

• Good in design of piping layouts for process plants with concepts of Stress Analysis and Materials
• Should have the capacity to work as Lead or as an Area Lead i.e., supervised / handled 20,000- 40,000 hours on an individual project. Should have independently handled a project / Area with 500-1,000 lines.
• Handle a team of min 10 personnel.
• Knowledge of statutory rules / regulations, global engineering standards.
• Working as per the quality and safety requirement standards.
• Adopting a flexible and open approach towards the needs of projects.
• Versatile & proactive in approach adjusting to the project requirements

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Qualification/ Certification: 

• Masters/Bachelor of Engineering OR Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from Indian University (UGC approved) or from Overseas University.

Skills Requirement:

• Perform the following tasks independently/with minimum guidance:
• Lead Engineer of mid to large-sized project.
• Responsible for coordination with other disciplines.
• Responsible for quality of deliverables.
• Planning & Scheduling
• Control of hours.
• Proposal & Estimation.
• Contributes to developmental activities.
• Monitor the project budget and follow timely change management.
• Directly supervises Sr. Engineers, Engineers, Design team.

Software Tools:

• Familiar with Design 3D Software’s- (SP3D, E3D, CADWORX, Auto plant, SP3D, AUTOPLANT).

Computer Applications: Windows operating systems.

 Communication: 

• English - Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good Interpersonal skills.
• Presentation and business communication skill.
• Identify/report technical concerns and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
• Should be able to attend project and team meetings.
• Conduct technical training session for team.
• Proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices
