Requirements
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in product management or product ownership, including at least 4–5 years operating at a senior or director level owning products end-to-end.
  • Experience translating enterprise or life-sciences business strategy into product roadmaps and requirements at scale.
  • Experience translating business needs into artificial-intelligence-based technical solutions that have successfully scaled globally.
  • A proven track record managing senior VP- and SVP-level stakeholder relationships and driving prioritization decisions across competing interests.
  • Experience with agile or iterative delivery frameworks such as Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum, or equivalent, and modern product management practices including discovery, experimentation, minimum viable products, and outcome-based roadmapping.
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee and guide colleagues' work to achieve meaningful outcomes and business impact.
  • Ability to travel to Pfizer offices, vendor offices, and other team meeting locations when required.
  • Ability to work during off-hours when necessary to coordinate with global stakeholders.
  • Authorization to be employed in the United States by any employer, with permanent work authorization required.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and roadmap for one or more global Medical Affairs artificial intelligence and digital products, from initial ideation through scaled global deployment.
  • Serve as the implementation lead for developing global products, engage broad stakeholders across Medical Affairs, and report progress to Air Traffic Control.
  • Translate enterprise and Medical Affairs strategic priorities into a product strategy with clear value hypotheses, target outcomes, and success metrics.
  • Continuously evaluate therapeutic-area, market, and regulatory trends, including health technology assessment and the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act, to keep the roadmap ahead of business needs.
  • Collaborate with Commercial product leads to define integration points to Commercially led products.
  • Serve as the primary product point of contact for a broad, senior stakeholder base across global Medical Affairs, Oncology, International, and adjacent functions.
  • Elicit, synthesize, and translate ambiguous or conflicting business needs from multiple senior stakeholders into clear, documented product, feature, and technical requirements.
  • Facilitate structured prioritization and trade-off discussions among VP- and SVP-level stakeholders, build consensus where interests diverge, and make the final call when consensus is not reached.
  • Define and document detailed product, feature, and technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and success measures in partnership with user experience, architecture, and engineering.
  • Own and continuously groom the product backlog and roadmap, sequencing features by business value, dependency, and delivery feasibility.
  • Partner with Solution Architecture and Engineering to ensure feature designs are technically sound, scalable, and compliant with Pfizer's technology standards.
  • Lead products through discovery, experimentation, pilot, minimum viable product, enterprise scale, and sustained operation, applying appropriate governance rigor at each stage.
  • Define and track adoption, business value, and return-on-investment metrics post-launch, and use them to inform roadmap iteration and investment decisions.
  • Manage risk, compliance, and change-control considerations specific to Medical Affairs, including data privacy, medical, legal, and regulatory review, the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act, and health technology assessment implications.
  • Direct the work of Product Managers, Engineers, User Experience Designers, and Program Delivery Leads supporting the product without requiring formal reporting authority.
  • Represent the product in portfolio governance forums, providing status, risk, and prioritization recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and develop product talent within the broader Medical AI Acceleration and Delivery team.

Pfizer faces competition from Moderna and the Novavax-Sanofi protein vaccine for this smaller patient pool. The company's current share price sits 5.27% above its estimated value of $26.51, suggesting investors are paying a premium before actual uptake and commercial results become clear.

FDA approves Pfizer-BioNTech XFG-adapted COVID-19 vaccine for high-risk groups

Pfizer and BioNTech have received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for their 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine targeting the XFG variant. The vaccine is approved for adults aged 65 and older, and individuals aged 5 to 64 with underlying conditions that increase risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes. The FDA approval is based on clinical, non-clinical and real-world data demonstrating the vaccine generates strong immune responses against currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants, including XFG and other contemporary lineages.
