Requirements
  • 2+ years experience in an underwriting support role
  • Property & Casualty industry experience is required
  • Post-Secondary education required; industry certifications considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of the underwriting processes and insurance terms and conditions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success

Responsibilities
  • Assists with policy maintenance (endorsements, cancellations, registered letters, extensions, premium processing, etc.); exhibits thorough working knowledge of sound underwriting principles, policies, procedures, and controls
  • Assists with the completion of monthly bordereau reporting, including but not limited to triaging any questions that may come from carriers for review
  • Collaborates with Product Directors to triage individual risk referrals on submissions falling outside of granted authority to supporting markets, including but not limited to Lloyd's and domestic carriers
  • Supports with the internal underwriting review process, as well as with third-party facilitated audits, including implementing procedures to meet underwriting and regulatory requirements; support company's requirements to comply with regulatory and industry standards at all times
  • Maintains and updates payable and cancellations for non-payment tracking sheets
  • Provides a high-level of customer service by timely response to internal (and occasionally external requests and deadlines
