Requirements
  • A high school diploma and two years of post-high-school education are required.
  • Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant is preferred, with four years preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a confidential environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • The candidate must be able to think critically and identify solutions to complex administrative and operational challenges.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadline goals with or without supervision in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Process incoming hardware and software purchase requests.
  • Create purchase orders and approve vendor invoices.
  • Intake new equipment, including documenting equipment and affixing City asset tags.
  • Complete inventory transfer forms to ensure assets are assigned to designated custodians.
  • Complete the annual Class 400 Inventory Report and distribute it to the unit.
  • Maintain accurate records of the departmental budget and perform general administrative tasks.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with associates, administrative officials, and departmental officials within City government.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors.
  • Document current processes and keep process documents up to date.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of administrative functions and implement changes to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work in a confidential environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • A college degree is a plus but is not required.
  • Four years of experience as an Administrative Assistant is preferred.

Philadelphia to deploy up to 1,000 curbside EV chargers with it's electric across all neighbourhoods

It's electric has signed an agreement with Philadelphia to deploy up to 1,000 Level 2 curbside electric vehicle chargers across the city, making Philadelphia the first US city to pursue city-wide curbside charging at this scale. City Council is set to vote on enabling legislation in June. The network will prioritise neighbourhoods based on rideshare driver density, lack of existing charging infrastructure and environmental justice considerations. More than 60% of Philadelphia households lack off-street parking, making curbside charging essential for EV adoption. It's electric's hardware draws power from existing buildings and utility poles, avoiding interconnection delays and grid upgrades. The first chargers are scheduled to go live in early 2027, with deployment spanning all 18 city planning districts.
