- A Journeyperson Certificate is required.
- At least 5 years of machining experience is required.

- A Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate is preferred.
- Experience with manual programming and Mastercam computer-aided manufacturing software.
- Experience operating both computer numerical control and manual machines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
