Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years of general accounting experience
  • Proven quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in MRI and Great Plains Software a plus.
  • New York City Residency is required within 180 days of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries for cash and fuel hedge accounts
  • Apply cash receipts for wires, checks, and lock box deposits
  • Act as a back-up for vouchering of capital payments for City OMB's approval
  • Enter monthly electricity sales tax charged to tenants into the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance portal for reporting and payment purposes
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll expense and accrual journal entries
  • Prepare monthly payroll reports to the Budget department for City reimbursement
  • Track and maintain the Corporation’s fixed assets schedules and prepare monthly entries
  • Work on ad hoc projects as needed and other duties as assigned
