Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Generally, 4 to 6 years of related experience, including 0 to 2 years of leadership experience.
Responsibilities
  • Supervises daily activities of claims processing and payment functions.
  • Establishes work procedures and standards. Evaluates work methods and implements new procedures and operations.
  • Maintains various reports and management controls. Verifies statistical coverage information, as requested. Provides status report on Processing unit(s) to Claims Manager, as requested.
  • Coordinates the work activities of the unit. Responsible for day-to-day work and procedures. Assigns and checks work. Monitors and controls quality, productivity, and workflow.
  • Provides technical guidance to staff. Maintains high-level system(s) knowledge sufficient to instruct staff on automated system(s) and processing workflows.
  • Identifies operational and/or potential systemic problems; identifies root causes and ensures that solutions are implemented promptly.
  • Responsible for performance and coaching of staff and has a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management. Provides training to new members of the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
