Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required in a carrier or similar environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of SIU or investigative experience within a property and casualty insurance organization
  • Direct experience with Florida Personal Injury Protection claims, bodily injury investigations, and medical clinic investigations required
  • Active Florida Adjuster’s License required prior to start date
  • Ability to obtain Florida Notary (including Remote Online Notary) within 30 days
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Haitian Creole (required)
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County
Responsibilities
  • Conduct field-based investigations on suspicious bodily injury and property damage claims, with a strong emphasis on Florida Personal Injury Protection exposure
  • Lead and participate in Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), including preparation, documentation, and coordination with legal counsel
  • Investigate potential fraud schemes, including staged accidents, medical clinic activity, and organized fraud patterns
  • Perform in-person interviews, recorded statements, scene inspections, and neighborhood canvasses as part of active investigations
  • Independently manage assigned investigations from referral through resolution, including evidence development and reporting
  • Document investigative findings clearly and thoroughly within claim systems and written reports
  • Partner with Claims, Legal, and external stakeholders to support claim decisions and litigation as needed
  • Identify and report suspicious activity to the Department of Insurance (DOI) in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on identifying potentially fraudulent claims
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with SIU peers, law enforcement, attorneys, and industry contacts
  • Stay current on Florida statutes, Personal Injury Protection regulations, and emerging fraud trends within the South Florida market
  • Meet individual performance goals and maintain consistent communication with leadership
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience conducting or supporting Examinations Under Oath (EUOs) strongly preferred
  • Property damage investigative experience is a plus
