Requirements
  • Previous security experience, valid NYS Security Guard Card License and F03 Fire Guard license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years prior customer service experience, preferably in a sports/entertainment venue environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from Barclays Center for scheduled shifts. Parking will not be provided.
  • Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for4-6 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 200 pounds.
  • Employee may be scheduled to work until 12:00am or later.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and understand English in a working environment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be available to work at least five (5) evening events per week; including all events on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Holidays may also be included.
Responsibilities
  • Complete all assigned tasks within the guidelines & deadlines set by Department Managers.
  • Works with Department Managers to properly assist with part-time team members, and other areas assigned, during events and games.
  • Assist with ECA write-ups and complete mandatory follow-up coaching and training with team members.
  • Actively participate in the training process for part-time team members. Confers with Department Managers on the job performance of prime-time team members and recommends team members for additionaltrainings.
  • Continuously coaches and encourages staff to provide superior levels of guest services and reinforce Barclays Center Experience behaviors.
  • Ensures that part-time team members have the equipment and tools necessary to perform the jobs accurately and efficiently, via regular communication with their Department Manager.
  • Ensures all team members are wearingappropriate uniforms and that uniforms are neat, clean and in good order. Responsible for being available and approachable to staff with questions/concerns about their uniform and uniform policies before, during, and after events.
  • Assists with check-in services of bags, backpacks, cameras, strollers and other prohibited items if needed. (Guest Services only)
  • Assists guests requiring relocation to an ADA platform and other seating within the Arena, resulting from maintenance issues or the closure of an area/section. (Guest Services Only)
  • Responds quickly to requests from guests, fellow-supervisors or management in a timely, friendly and efficient manner and follows up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the facility, current and upcoming events/games and the surrounding area.
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, without the loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Responsible for maintaining a fun, friendly, and safe environment as staff arrive and depart from arena for assigned shifts.
  • Effectively and calmly interact with angry or emotional employees.
  • Ability to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve relevant information.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintain company confidentiality.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management/supervisor
