Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Nursing/DNP required and graduate of an accredited NP Program
  • 1-3 years of NP experience preferred
  • Prior experience in pediatrics is required
  • Certified NP (FNP or PNP) with pediatric population experience
  • Registered Nurse
  • TN APN certificate/certificate of fitness to prescribe
Responsibilities
  • In the outpatient setting, the NP will obtain histories, complete physical examinations, and provide appropriate assessments and plans for patients seen in the pediatric endocrinology and diabetes clinics.
  • The NP will also provide, and coordinate follow up care for this patient population.
  • This NP will order and interpret laboratory tests and procedures and coordinate with physicians according to established protocols.
  • The NP will initiate and/or recommend medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy for the management of other pediatric endocrinology patients.
  • The NP will be responsible for accurate and complete documentation of all pertinent clinical findings, assessments, and plans in the electronic medical record.
  • The NP will participate in case management which may include education, counseling, and referrals when medically indicated.
  • The NP will participate in quality improvement activities and perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director.
