Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of experience supporting data center operations, field services, IT infrastructure, or related technical environments.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting servers, storage systems, network devices, and structured cabling.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, switching, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience using ticketing and service management platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and work in data center environments for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams, rack elevations, and network documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Availability for scheduled maintenance windows, emergency response, and after-hours support.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and move equipment throughout the workday.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, test, and support data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, racks, and cabling infrastructure.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and break-fix repairs on data center equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, network connectivity, power, and environmental issues within customer facilities and data centers.
  • Execute equipment deployments, decommissioning activities, hardware upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
  • Respond to service requests, incidents, and escalations within established service-level agreement requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to validate installation readiness and identify potential operational risks.
  • Document service activities, technical findings, asset information, and customer interactions accurately within service management systems.
  • Coordinate with customers, project managers, vendors, and cross-functional technical teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Support data center power and cooling infrastructure by performing visual inspections and reporting operational concerns.
  • Adhere to all safety, security, and compliance requirements while working in customer and data center environments.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as required.
  • Assist with mentoring and training junior field engineers and technicians.
Desired Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Microsoft certifications, or Certified Data Centre Professional.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or hyperscale data center environments.
  • Knowledge of data center power distribution, uninterruptible power supply systems, and environmental monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library processes and best practices.
  • Experience working in mission-critical or 24x7 operational environments.

IES Holdings subsidiary acquires Broadwind Texas facility for $19.5M

IES Holdings subsidiary IES Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Broadwind Heavy Fabrications' production facility in Abilene, Texas, for up to $19.5 million. The deal includes real property, equipment, machinery and related assets, with consideration comprising cash and non-cash value tied to a below-market lease arrangement. Approximately 140 employees involved in wind tower manufacturing are expected to transfer to IES Infrastructure after the lease term ends. The transaction was announced on 5 May 2026, following a definitive agreement signed on 30 April. IES Holdings reported second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $4.16, up from $3.30 year-on-year, with revenue rising to $974.2 million from $834 million. The company maintains a backlog of approximately $3.9 billion, driven by strong demand in data centres and communications infrastructure.

IES Holdings reported fiscal second-quarter 2026 results on 1 May, with revenue reaching $974 million, up 17% year-over-year. IES director sells $3.8M in shares following 157% stock surge

IES Holdings director Todd Cleveland sold 7,500 shares of common stock valued at approximately $3.8 million across two transactions between 24 February and 4 March 2026, according to SEC filings. The sales represented about 8.9% of his direct holdings at the start of the period. The sale occurred following a 157% one-year total return in IESC stock and continues a multi-year pattern of position reduction.
