Requirements
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace, manufacturing, materials, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing and process design experience; internship and academic experience are applicable.
  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly methods, testing, failure mode effects analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and improving weld processes and weld inspection techniques, including automation.
  • Experience using SQL or other data management tools to inform priorities and measure performance.
  • Exposure to aerospace, space, or other high-reliability hardware environments.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and perform acceptance testing of manufacturing processes, techniques, and tools to enable efficient and high-rate manufacturing.
  • Design and implement precision tooling to eliminate assembly error, improve quality, and minimize cycle time.
  • Automate novel processes to ensure repeatability on high-rate manufacturing lines.
  • Work closely with design engineering teams to influence solar panel architecture with design for manufacturing improvements.
  • Establish in-process inspection methods, including automated approaches, to catch issues at the source and improve first-pass yield.
  • Lead the handoff of hardware from development into production, ensuring processes are documented, stable, and ready to scale.
  • Simplify specifications, streamline workflows, and reduce overhead where it does not add value.
Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with mixed value stream or high-rate manufacturing lines, focusing on maximizing yield and increasing rate.

Starpath Robotics designs and builds robotic factories that can operate on the Moon and Mars to mine local resources, refine them into rocket propellant, and distribute it as a space refueling infrastructure. Its product works by deploying autonomous or remotely operated factory units that extract water ice, process it into propellant, and supply rockets and landers with fuel, enabling in-situ production of propellant for deep-space missions. Unlike others that may offer individual components, Starpath aims to provide a full-stack hardware system for ISRU-based propellant production and distribution as a service, targeting both private space companies and government agencies. The company’s goal is to establish a space refueling station that significantly lowers the cost of moving payloads in deep space by eliminating the need to launch heavy fuel from Earth, supporting the vision of long-term off-world colonies and multi-planet humanity.

Starpath Robotics raises $12M seed funding

Starpath Robotics, founded by former SpaceX engineers, raised $12 million in seed funding to develop reusable lunar spacecraft technology.
