Sprout Social is looking to hire a Procurement Manager to join the Finance team. This position will work in tandem with our Accounting, Legal and IT department and will manage the procurement of Sprout’s goods and services. You will lead our contract administration, managing our vendor relationships, and strategic sourcing. You’ll partner with stakeholders across our teams from supplier discovery and identifying renewals to contract signing. What you’ll do
- Manage the procurement of Sprout’s goods and services.
- Collaborate and consult with subject matter experts on our Legal, IT, and other Finance support teams.
- Strengthen and mature our intake-to-procure process to ensure alignment between Sprout’s policies, legal requirements, and compliance controls for new and renewing vendors.
- Be a relationship manager for both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, championing transparency and prioritizing efficiency throughout the procurement process.
- Increase awareness and education to stakeholders about our procurement practices and policies across the company.
- Analyze departmental budgets, pricing structures, manage multiple sources of information and viewpoints and propose meaningful recommendations.
- Work toward automating our standard practices and renewal procedures
- Guide in the strategic selection of suppliers and contract negotiations for new and renewing contracts who are aligned with our policies and values.
What you’ll bring
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 5+ years in procurement or related experience.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to work with partners at all levels internally and externally.
- Experience independently performing expense analyses and cash flow modeling for different pricing scenarios.
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Experience with Netsuite.
- Implementation and/or administration of a contract lifecycle management or procure-to-pay tool (e.g. SAP Ariba, Zip).
- Project management experience.
- Experience in applying ESG standards to vendors.
How you’ll grow
Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:
- Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other new Sprout team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our organization.
- Partner with the Director of Finance to set initial priorities and expectations for your role.
- Start building relationships with Accounting, IT, and Legal leadership as well as across the broader Sprout organization.
- Performing the first line of review of contracts for system and security, and legal requirements.
- Ensuring control compliance and efficiently progress work flow processes.
- Assisting our Accounting team in performing reconciliations between contracts and invoices.
Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:
- Running reporting and perform outreach to stakeholders and initiate contract renewals.
- Be a steward of the company’s budget, determine funding and track procurement expenses.
- Performing expense analyses and cash flow modeling.
- Confirming alignment between Sprout’s policies, legal requirements, and compliance controls for new and renewing vendors.
- Creating reporting to track procurement activities and expenses.
- Auditing and organizing our records to ensure they are complete and accurate.
- Applying data and insights to inform conclusions, develop solutions and recommendations.
Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:
- Collaborating with contract owners and peers to implement a request for proposal, fair bidding and contracting processes.
- Conducting supplier audits to identify opportunities to streamline solutions and tooling, and tracking vendor accreditations.
- Analyzing vendor spend to provide insight on changes and deviations and update expense forecasts.
- Participating in the development of performance metrics and reporting on them monthly.
Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:
- Meeting or exceeding savings targets, risk management and other performance targets.
- Evaluating the return of investment of our contracts.
- Assisting in budget cycle, providing reporting and guidance for continuing and new investments.
- Maturing our procurement strategy to align with our policies and compliance requirements, promote supplier diversity, equity and inclusion, and introduce automation to best meet our business needs.
- Being a strategic advisor and subject matter expert, providing solutions for our sourcing needs and creating standards in negotiating contractual arrangements.

The base pay range for this role is $68,000 to $102,000 USD annually. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In addition to base pay, some Sales and Success roles can earn sales incentives.
Sprout’s compensation ranges are intentionally broad to allow for our team members’ growth within their role. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
Base pay is only one element of an employee’s total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
