Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Compensation Operations, Incentive Compensation, Commission Administration, Global Payroll, Accounting, Audit, Financial Systems, or Business Systems Analysis.
  • Experience performing complex reconciliations, validation testing, root-cause investigations, internal controls reviews, and large-scale data analysis.
  • Experience supporting enterprise business systems and multiple databases and data sources.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting business rules, process flows, control procedures, reconciliations, and audit-ready workpapers.
  • Strong documentation, audit trail, and process governance discipline.
  • Ability to independently research issues, develop conclusions, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, data modeling, reconciliation analysis, and complex financial analysis.
  • Advanced Alteryx experience, including data preparation, reconciliation workflows, validation testing, exception reporting, and audit support processes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed reviews of compensation calculations, commission rules, credit allocations, adjustment processing, and related system outputs.
  • Develop and maintain audit-ready validation procedures, control frameworks, reconciliation processes, and supporting workpapers.
  • Conduct independent reviews of compensation calculations before commission and payroll releases.
  • Evaluate compensation system controls and recommend improvements to transparency, auditability, operational reliability, and governance effectiveness.
  • Support internal and external audit activities related to compensation processes, controls, calculations, data, and supporting systems.
  • Maintain documentation of compensation business rules, assumptions, calculation methodologies, validation procedures, reconciliation results, and control activities.
  • Establish repeatable control procedures that provide sustainable audit trails and support management review processes.
  • Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, and operational risks, and develop remediation recommendations.
  • Participate in monthly compensation processing activities and operational support functions.
  • Review compensation calculations, credit allocations, account assignments, retroactive adjustments, and related operational outputs.
  • Support compensation plan implementation, system enhancements, configuration maintenance, production support, issue resolution, change management, and system releases.
  • Support global commission and incentive compensation operations across Sales, Account Management, and other compensation programs.
  • Research, investigate, and resolve payee inquiries, disputes, escalations, and support tickets.
  • Communicate compensation calculations, adjustments, corrections, and investigation findings through written and verbal communication.
  • Partner with payees, managers, payroll teams, accounting teams, technology teams, and vendors to resolve compensation-related concerns.
  • Support compensation-related communications, case management, issue tracking, and service-level monitoring activities.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend operational improvements that reduce support volume and operational risk.
  • Support governance of compensation-related applications and supporting platforms.
  • Coordinate issue investigation and resolution activities with technology teams and external vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor issue resolution, support requests, testing activities, and enhancement delivery.
  • Participate in development, testing, user acceptance testing, and production validation activities supporting compensation system enhancements and releases.
  • Review and validate business requirements, technical specifications, developer logic, scripts, calculations, configurations, and system outputs.
  • Analyze large and complex data sets across multiple databases, applications, and reporting environments.
  • Develop and maintain operational, analytical, management, executive, and exception reporting supporting compensation operations, governance, audit activities, and business decision-making.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, scorecards, reconciliations, monitoring solutions, and operational reporting.
  • Support data integrations between compensation systems, enterprise data platforms, payroll systems, reporting environments, and operational applications.
  • Review and validate data feeds, SFTP processes, file transfers, integration outputs, and automated workflows.
  • Coordinate testing activities, document testing results, identify defects, and support deployment approvals.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, streamline workflows, improve scalability, and reduce operational risk.
  • Support root-cause investigations, remediation efforts, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Expeditors posts 51% earnings jump to $2.03 per share, but air freight and customs tailwinds may not last

Expeditors International of Washington reported second-quarter 2026 results with diluted earnings per share jumping 51% to $2.03. Net earnings rose 45% to $266 million, whilst revenue climbed 32% to $3.5 billion. The logistics company saw double-digit revenue growth across customs brokerage, Transcon, distribution, and order management. Airfreight tonnage rose 14% year over year, driven by AI hyperscaler demand and North Asian e-commerce. Ocean freight volumes increased 7% versus the first quarter. However, management noted some tailwinds appear temporary. Elevated air freight rates stemmed from Middle East conflict disruptions. Customs brokerage growth was partly fueled by a temporary surge in IEEPA-related filings. Expeditors returned $461 million to shareholders through buybacks and dividends during the quarter. The company announced a $25 million technology restructuring expected to trim annual costs by roughly $50 million.

Expeditors beats Q2 estimates with $3.5B revenue, up 32% year-on-year

Expeditors International reported second-quarter revenue of $3.50 billion, up 32.1% year on year and beating analyst estimates of $2.95 billion by 18.6%. The logistics and freight forwarding company also posted GAAP earnings of $2.03 per share, exceeding consensus estimates of $1.69 by 19.9%. Operating margin held steady at 10% compared to the same quarter last year. However, free cash flow margin declined to 4.8% from 6.2% in the year-ago period. The company's board declared a semi-annual dividend of $0.81 per share, payable on 15 June to shareholders of record as of 1 June. Expeditors has returned nearly $2 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases since 2024. Analysts project revenue growth of 1.1% over the next 12 months.

Expeditors International cuts 230 tech jobs, abandoning longstanding no-layoff policy

Expeditors International, a Washington-based freight forwarder, is cutting 230 employees by the end of the year, marking a departure from its longstanding no-layoff policy. The reductions affect the company's US global technology department across five offices in Washington state. According to a WARN notice filed Monday, the Seattle office will lose 68 employees, Federal Way 66, and Lynnwood 59. Separations began 8 August and will be finalised by 31 December. The cuts represent 15.4% of Expeditors' information systems branch, which employed 1,498 workers as of 31 March, and 1.1% of the company's total 20,361 staff. Affected positions include software developers, quality assurance engineers, project managers and business analysts. The company recently updated its corporate history page to describe its "short-term no layoff policy" rather than simply "no layoff policy".
