Today, we supply autonomous electric aircraft for cargo transport and crop protection to real-world customers across four separate continents and have secured industry-first regulatory approvals from the FAA. 

Our cargo aircraft enables remote connectivity, enhances express delivery networks, and ensures fast and reliable shipping of critical supplies to areas in need. Our crop protection aircraft offers agricultural services providers and farmers an autonomous tool to make aerial application safer, more precise, and less harmful to surrounding environments. Both vehicles are highly economical to operate, easy to deploy, and significantly reduce CO2 emissions in their respective industries.

Role Overview

Pyka is seeking a Controller to join our growing team. If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for driving change and a track record of financial excellence, we want to hear from you. This pivotal role will be responsible for directing all aspects of accounting, managing relationships with external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

This role will play a pivotal role in advancing Pyka and contribute to advancing society's transition to using electric aircraft. 

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of the accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
• Oversee financial compliance activities for the company, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Lead the implementation of our ERP system company-wide from a financial and controls perspective, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of processes.
• Foster strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to prepare and deliver financial reports and analyses to senior management, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Support investor diligence activities, providing financial data and insights to support fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate closely with the FP&A teams on budgeting and forecasting to support decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience as an accounting director for a manufacturing company, with a proven track record of driving financial excellence.
• Experience in ERP implementation processes, with the ability to lead complex system integrations and optimizations.
• Proven track record of building processes and implementing systems, with the ability to anticipate accounting and control requirements.
• Experience with corporate tax and treasury activities.
• Strong expertise in preparing financial statements and accounting policies.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a current CPA license are required, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements; experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
• Proven track record in leadership roles, with experience in startups and the aerospace,

• $166,000–$205,000 per year base salary + equity. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Salary ranges are subject to change.

This position requires access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.  Employment in this position is conditioned on the continued availability of government authorization to authorize release of such items, to the extent required, including without limitation an export license, or other documentation required to establish authorization to receive access to such items.

This is a remote optional role; however, candidates must be based on the West Coast and be available for in-person meetings, team events, or onsite with external parties at least one week per month and as needed.
