Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required; Nursing or Nurse Practitioner education is preferred.
  • Three or more years of combined clinical experience and/or pharmaceutical sales, clinical educator, or medical affairs experience are required, preferably in oncology.
  • Experience working in or supporting patients and healthcare professionals in an infusion center setting, including developing or implementing chemotherapy or biologics infusion procedures and protocols for therapy administration and patient safety monitoring, is preferred.
  • The role requires communication, objective-setting, influencing, business acumen, analytical, adaptability, learning, clinical and pharmacoeconomic data interpretation, oncology market awareness, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications is required.
  • The individual must be able to travel 50% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
  • The individual must be able to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment.
  • A valid driver's license, successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening test, and compliance with safe-driving requirements are required.
Responsibilities
  • Proactively engage allied healthcare professionals to provide product and disease education supporting patient management before, during, and after approved therapies.
  • Provide ongoing education and resources related to patient management, dosing and administration, and side-effect management.
  • Collaborate with field teams within applicable ways-of-working guidelines to support education for allied healthcare clinicians.
  • Interact with allied healthcare clinicians in targeted accounts and provide clinical in-services and education.
  • Identify educational needs and expand disease-state awareness, including symptom management and appropriate patient identification, within a defined geographic region.
  • Serve as a strategic education leader across academic and community oncology accounts through proactive and reactive education using approved resources.
  • Develop customized educational plans by analyzing account dynamics and clinical insights to address patient care teams' needs and clinical challenges.
  • Educate on preparation and administration requirements for therapeutic-area products, as well as adverse-event mitigation, monitoring, and management.
  • Interpret and communicate relevant clinical education topics to diverse audiences using approved materials.
  • Educate on disease-state awareness, including clinical and operational aspects of appropriate patient diagnosis.
  • Provide approved education programs through one-to-one presentations, in-services, round-table discussions, and podium presentations.
  • Educate patient care teams about the product-associated infusion process.
  • Use strategic questioning and active listening to document and share clinical insights.
  • Attend and provide clinical information or presentations at internal national, regional, and local meetings.
  • Provide staff support at exhibit booths and displays as appropriate.
  • Support clinical training initiatives and improve the clinical competencies of the internal sales team.
  • Collaborate across internal functional areas related to the oncology business, including sales, marketing, clinical operations, medical, and clinical value and evidence.
  • Provide education to patients in patient advocacy meeting settings when appropriate, using audience-tailored approved materials and messaging.
