Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of required background checks in accordance with University policies is required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • The role requires the ability to plan and manage budgets, analyze data, conduct needs assessments and market research, develop proposals, negotiate contracts, administer program grants, and supervise staff.
Responsibilities
  • Create interdisciplinary programming with faculty for Penn State students, including field research experiences, an Introduction to Field Research program, and a summer Productive Landscape Field Research program.
  • Develop a student internship program related to Fullers Overlook operations.
  • Develop student programming focused on wellness, community building, team building, and leadership skills with Student Affairs, Campus Recreation, Colleges, Campuses, and Outreach units.
  • Develop and execute Outreach programming at Overlook for nonprofits, local governments, school districts, and businesses.
  • Organize and run an annual public impact research symposium featuring posters, presentations, and Overlook Fellows' work.
  • Promote Fullers Overlook activities through social media and Penn State News stories with Outreach Communications and Marketing.
  • Develop content for an annual Outreach publication and create Broader Impacts communication training for research partners and Overlook Fellows.
  • Develop relationships with local community groups, nonprofits, school districts, governments, businesses, and neighbors.
  • Develop programming for local community members and neighbors with the Senior Administrative Coordinator.
  • Attend local government meetings as needed.
  • Ensure the successful onboarding of Overlook as a Penn State property by addressing legal, operational, procedural, policy, and compliance issues.
  • Address major property issues and unique circumstances in collaboration with Penn State units including OPP, EHS, Public Safety, Real Estate, OGC, and Procurement.
  • Support strategic planning and execute the strategic action plan.
  • Develop priorities for long-term improvements to the property's buildings and landscapes and coordinate their execution with architects, engineers, consultants, OPP, and Buildings and Grounds.
  • Provide oversight of construction and landscape projects, forestry plans, and lake management plans.
  • Plan and manage program and service budgets to meet income and program targets and pursue funding opportunities.
  • Generate reports, gather and analyze data, and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Track enrollment, completion, and satisfaction metrics to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Conduct needs assessments and market research to identify new program opportunities.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and administer program grants.
  • Supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management.
