Position Summary

The University of Miami, Desai Sethi Urology Institute at the Miller School of Medicine invites applications for a Biostatistician, open rank commensurate with experience, open track faculty member anticipated to begin in Spring 2023.

You will be a full-time biostatistician in the Institute. In this role, you will be expected to lead the analytic strategy of projects and participate in and provide statistical support for the academic/ research activities of the Institute including, but not limited to:

• Assist members of the Institute and collaborators from Urology and uropathology in the statistical analysis of data collected/databases developed by either performing the pertinent analysis and/or recommending about the best statistical approach for analyzing the data.
• Provide statistical advice for the construction of clinical trials and other clinical research studies within the Institute.
• Develop and assist in the development of grants for scientific studies and provide support for any sample size or statistical analysis
• Devote time to personal research which contributes to the research agenda of the Institute in particular and to the biostatistics and data science fields in general
• Serve on committees to provide statistical support and guide research

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree with specific graduate training in biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science, or related discipline.
• Evidence of high-impact publications.
• Effective oral and written communications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead innovative research projects to successful conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with medical issues in Urology is a plus.
• Experience with supervising an analytic team in a collaborative environment.
